Will this boat fit on that trailer?

Trailer battles…:) I Loadrite, #5,400 roller trailer. Came OEM with aluminum wobble brackets and black “rubber” rollers. Black streaks (beige hull) and flatness set in at year five. Had to back in and hit the brakes to get the trailer to roll off the trailer. Replaced all 36 with Yates TPR...

    Alternator or switch?

Sounds weird, but take a look at the starter circuit Had the exact same thing happening in my truck last year. Really weird things happening from a voltage perspective. Charge, low charge, no charge. Start, no start. It wasn’t until I learned the ECM stores a charge profile for that...

Those old rubber rollers are shot. They’ve gone soft and the tops flatten out with load. Replace with the updated, polyurethane rollers and your good to go

Engine runs perfectly for 30 minutes + then dies with no dash power

Temperature related failure in ignition circuit, with alarm, that resets itself with time (cool down). Not buying a harness connection problem. Issue with an ignition sensor/module. Need to find out what the alarm is. Guessing you’re tripping an interlock. I’d start by checking temp switch and...

    Sealing electrical connections?

Good luck tinning a wire after "black wire" disease has settled in. Once black wire death has set in there is no turning back. It will eventually wick its way from one end of the wire to the other. Adhesive lined shrink wrap is the only way to go when it comes to sealing wire connections...

    Lowrance Transducer Cracked

Sonar transducers are not "accurate", per say. Far too many variables come in play for any type of accuracy spec. Sonar transducer are primarily designed and rated for their ability (sensitivity) to detect the minute differences in density. This ability enables them to detect and "paint a...

    aluminum wheels stuck to hub

As a surf fisherman, corrosion is a major concern since everything you own and drive is subjected to the wrath of salt and sand on the beach. I've found both CorrisonX and CRC 6-56 to work equally well on equipment. Even spray down the tackle lockers and boxes every now and then as...

    Sealing electrical connections?

And I’m sure a number of “freshwater” builders still use untinned wire as a cost saving measure. Use 304 instead of 316 hardware as well. Most cable/wires are PVC jacketed. As such, you’re looking at a life expectancy of 20 -25 years before the jacket hardends and wires start to get brittle...

My turn with a old boat that has a sudden loss of ALL battery power in a 45 year old boat.

Replaced both my ground cables this Spring. The resistance values where starting to creep up Cant make a good cable for what you can buy them for. Been using these guys for a number of years now. https://www.customcableusa.com/ If you make the cables yourself, make sure you use heavy walled...
