prop recommendations for Trophy walk around 25 foot

Kind of irrelevant since he hasn’t been back, but I’m going from a different angle. Something wrong with his prop or engine setup. He’s under powered for a 25’ boat. Found a performance bulletin for his boat with a 300 Hp Verado running a 17”, 3 blade. I’m running basically the same setup on a...

Will i need to add a battery switch

Im running the same setup. Whats confusing? The switch is a simple on/off/combine for use with an ACR There is no need to switch between batteries (battery 1/battery 2) since the ACR handles the charge function. Otherwise, it operates like a normal battery switch

    Bunk Boards or Guide Poles?

The problem you run into with these types of discussions is we’re comparing apples to oranges to pears. What works “best” for a 14’ Jon boat isn’t going to work well for an 28’ offshore boat with a lot deadrise to accommodate. On top of that there are a lot of different bunk designs on the...

    Bayliner Trophy Bilge pump question

Accept the reality that bilge pumps are only there to remove runoff from the deck that accumulates in the bilge and focus on maintaining the systems that account most sinkings….failure to install drain plug, leaking thru-hulls, outdrive boots, and raw water cooling system Personally, I have a...

prop recommendations for Trophy walk around 25 foot

What rpm and speed are you currently running? I’m running a 15 x 15 on a 22’ boat with 225 hp at 5800. Cant imagine running a 17 or 19” prop on a 25’ boat with only 225 HP

    Bunk Boards or Guide Poles?

Guides or poles depends on the trailer configuration. I have a #6000 rated “drive on” bunk trailer. A pair of 3” dia. x 60”, sch. 40 PVC poles line up the boat with the trailer, while keeping the transom centered. The target bunks upfront capture and hold the bow centered to the winch post...

Towing Boston Whaler 130 with Honda CRV

Mrs. Dingbat was driving a 1200cc 74 Civic hatchback when we met. Struggled with bicycle rack. Couldn’t imagine pulling a trailer with it…..lol Pulling a boat and a horse trailer. Both trailers weight about the same with a single horse in the trailer. Because of the frontal surface area, the...

Towing Boston Whaler 130 with Honda CRV

OK.......so do I go by GM's recommendation or the recommendation of the manufacturer of my boat trailer? Per (Loadrite) manual I. PROPER TOW BALL HEIGHT Tow ball centerline height should be set between 18” to 21” from the ground for level towing IV. TONGUE WEIGHT All trailers 2,000 lbs. and...

    Bayliner Trophy Bilge pump question

If you read the small print and footnotes on any bilge pump, you'll find that the advertised flow rates are best case scenarios. By the time you figure in actual head, outlet hose size, smooth or corrugated hose, actual supply voltage at pump, etc. you lose up to 30% of rated capacity. So now...

excessive unburnt oil on prop exhaust

First start of the year? Did you drain the carbs the end of last season? Fuel left in carbs evaporates leaving a carb bowl full of oil

Battery switch not starting on 1, starting fine on 2 and All

"Charged" means nothing more the battery is at "capacity" based on current condition. A fully "charged", compromised battery is only worth the core charge There is always a risk which is why I run two batteries and have a Tow Boat policy with a 75 mile offshore service area ;)

    What torque for my prop?

Because “other sites” are not liable for damage or injury resulting from an improperly installed prop. According to your manual it’s 25 ft/lbs. https://tohatsu.com/tech_info/own_man_pdfs/Toh_40B2_50B2_75C2_90C2_115A2_003-11120-2AG2.pdf

Mr. Mayor would have a fit if he knew every smoke detector they mandated for home installation contained Am 241 (radioactive material, 7500 year half life)…...wonder how many are floating around in landfills?
