Is it feasible to straighten a prop shaft?

Yes, like the other posters said. Not a job for a do-it-your-selfer with a piece of rail for an anvil and a 32 oz ball peen hammer. Any decent machine shop can do it.

What are these holes for in this carbeurator drain manifold

Looks like I guessed wrong. It seems there is a separate plug for battery charging. See page 22.

What are these holes for in this carbeurator drain manifold

Not knowing what year or model my guess would be that is to pass the wires through to connect a battery for the lighting circuit.

    20 vs 30 HP 4 stroke

From my boating experiences I would think your rig should be at least in the18-22 mph range just as RMClark's. I do not know why you are not achieving at least 15. My 14' Crestliner with a 30hp tohatsu 2 stroke and the correct prop will do 30 on smooth water. Before you spend on a another...

    Boat identification help needed!

Same goes for that windshield if the frame work is good. A friend of mine looked for a while to find one for a similar boat that was his dads and he restored.

    Boat identification help needed!

Late 60's or pre 1972 with no antique, classic, or collectors value. Hundreds of now out of business makers made similar boats in this time frame. Just trying to get it all registered without a paperwork trail could be just as difficult as restoring it would be. If it was a rusted out 1969...

    Need a Winter Project.

My mother had a 65 hardtop. Bought it new, always garaged, run hard. I told her I wanted it when she was ready to get rid of it. Go forward 20 some years and she called and said she sold the GTO. Said she was tired of every time she would stop for gas somewhere young guys would try to buy it...

Replacing Gas engine with electric motor

It takes a lot less power to keep a car at cruising speed on level ground than it takes for a boat. A planing boat at cruising speed is like driving up Pike's Peak. Electric azimuthing propulsion pods for displacement hulls will come first I think for displacement hulls until a big...

    Anchor light wiring

You didn't say how old the boat is but here is a diagram for how a boat with a 2 bulb 3 wire masthead light was wired years ago before diodes. https://www.seachoice.com/pdf/05991_MASTHEAD%20&%20ALL-ROUND%20WHITE%20LIGHT.pdf

    Need Electrical help

Just reread you answer about no ceiling box. You will have to install a junction box to support the socket and enclose the wire connections. Without knowing details about your garage ceiling's construction I can't tell you exactly how to do it as there are several methods that come to mind.

    Need Electrical help

I had two electricians who worked for me and one was my expert on code and since I retired 19 years ago so to the best of my knowledge the sockets do not have to be grounded (bonded) since there are no exposed conductive parts. The ground wires have to be continuous so they will have to be...

    Are you are installing a ceramic/plastic fixture that has one standard socket for a screw in bulb to accept a multi-lamp LED onto a standard ceiling box? Similar to this;

charging not working on Merc 850 1974

When you are reading the resistance of the stator you are just measuring a long length of copper wire. Depending on the accuracy of your meter and the temperature of the stator it will vary so it seems to be withing specs. Like raceone said those old mercs are good motors but known for brittle...
