    Slave solenoid

As for the coil look closely at the diagram that Chris posted as well as the starter wiring colors. I think that the wire mounting nuts on the starter are metric. Be sure to spray some penetrating oil on them before trying to wire in the slave solenoid.

Did the engine turn up the maximum rpm before? Is the propeller the one that has always been on the boat? How long have you had the boat?

Fuel pressure loss on Mercruiser 140

Try as dubs283 suggested and run the boat on a separate fuel tank like a 6 gallon outboard type. First run the boat until it starts acting up then quickly switch to the 6 gallon tank. Use the primer bulb. If the engine starts to do the same with that tank have some start squeezing the primer...

Fuel pressure loss on Mercruiser 140

Just a question, is the vent hose between the valve cover and flame arrestor a formed 90* hose and there is not a PCV valve in the valve cover in place of the original open fitting? How long ago did this this symptom begin?

    1993 Volvo Penta DP-D1.230 I/O Problem

Try back flushing through the drive like you did before but try to stop the water from coming out of the intake, you may have an air leak at the joint where the lower gear case swivels or the aluminum nipple where water goes from that to the transom plate hose connection.

    OMC 5.7. Totally frustrated

With the engine running the voltage should be 7-9. If there is a NAPA store in your area try to get a new set of points and condenser. As SD said Float setting is critical. Does the carburetor appear to be the original carburetor on your engine?

    Oil pressure gauge

The membrane in the sender may have ruptured, when that happens the sender goes to 0 pressure. Remember you have 50 year old pieces on your engine. Hopefully that is all that is wrong.

    Slave solenoid

Be sure to disconnect the battery before connecting the wires. If the colored wires in the diagram are not cut connect them to the slave solenoid as in the diagram. You will need 2 bolts 1/4” X 20 about 1/2” long to remount the slave solenoid. Take a cell phone picture of the starter and wires...

When you talk to them be sure to ask which side of the solenoid does the yellow/red connect to from the wire diagram...

Volvos draw the water from the out drive. The sea water pump has a rubber impeller that needs water so it does not burn up. There is a hose that goes to the transom connected to the suction side of the pump, disconnect it and place it in a bucket of water along with a garden hose suppling...

Where the driveshaft comes through the inner plate’s receiver ring that centers over the outer male section may be the problem. Screw the nuts back on the studs and pound on them along with a pneumatic hammer using a blunt driver punch. Being careful not to damage the gel coat, try wedging...

OMC stringer thump sound from the rear.

I used to have a OMC tool that after removing the quadrant gear it fit over the small gear, the other end had a 3/4” square hole that a torque wrench was inserted i at a right angle. This was how the “breakaway” torque was checked. So in your case just loosen the set screw until you can raise...
