I realize they went out of business quite some time ago, but the lack of any info on the net is still surprising since they were around so long.
Anybody have any idea when they closed their doors and why, or if they were bought out?
Its a OEM Eagle trailer with zircs on the hub covers. Not Bearing Buddies, and has no spring plate or movable blue indicators.
How do you know when to stop pumping grease?
Anybody ever installed one of these units? Anybody ever have one fail and need to replace it? Anybody ever replace theirs just for preventative maintenance?
Just installed a new Traxxis 40 and got to use it a few times. Never had an electric before. Couldn't be happier with the performance.
When I'm done, naturally I tilt it up then start the main engine on. When I get home I lower the Traxxis into the running position and some water always...
Never had an electric motor before. Bought the subject one based on advertising. Just got to try it out yesterday.
Its on a 14' Starcraft Seafarer FLSS - total weight with me in the 800 pound ballpark. At 25% it pushes the boat 0.7 mph and at 100% 2.3 mph.
That's perfect for what I want it...
After reading all these oil threads, I got to wondering whether I have been lax in maintenance all these years. Never decarbonized one yet.
The motor I'm concerned about is a 1984 Evinrude 9.9 sitting on an OMC bracket on a 19' bowrider. It has a sailboat prop to keep the rpms higher. I did...
All the boats are water ready but the weather is not cooperating. On this rainy day I was reading through my stack of old magazines and came across a 1989 article on Hydrofoils. I found it interesting reading so I thought I would share.
Trailer Boats Magazine used to be the best! Their tests...
Just read the specs in a magazine. Its based on the 25 hp block and weighs in at 177 pounds. I can't imagine who would want to buy one of these. And its a 2-stroke to boot.
I replaced the 18 on my fishing boat last year with a Yami 25 at 105 lbs. I didnt want to wait for the E-tec because...
The motor is a 2007 model. I also own Evinrudes that are 1988 as far back as 1953 and all start 2nd pull. I asked this question 2 years ago but didn't really get a good answer.
The motor takes 8 or 9 pulls to start. I asked my local Yami dealer mechanic and he said check the choke. I pulled...
I have a 2009 Starcraft Seafarer with a live well. The discharge hose seems to be self-draining, but is the fill hose?
The pickup is on the outside of the transom, with the pump mounted right inside. After the pump the hose has a gooseneck (loop) before going forward. Al the hoses are...
We live in a northern climate where anti-freeze is a must. Our old boat was a Mercruiser 3.0 liter 140 that required that you pull three brass plugs to drain, then pull the thermostat and fill the block and manifold with anti-freeze. Lately we have been hooking up a plastic tank and runnning 5...
Please see my last post. Thanks to all who replied.
This is for trolling only. A Yami 25 is the main engine.
Ok, I'll upgrade to a group 24 battery.
Now.....its between a MK Traxxis 40 (36") and a MG Varimax V40 (30").
I like the compactness of the Varimax (I don't really need the extra...
I've been a boater for 50 years but never had an electric. I would like to put one on my 14' fishing boat and have been doing some reading. Here are my questions:
1. Opinions - Minn Kota or Motorguide - which is better as far as reliability and service life?
2. How large a battery is...
I have 3 boat trailers. Two singles and a tandem. Fresh water only. The singles had the dust caps replaced with Bearing Buddies when new before they even hit the water. When the tandem was 10 years old the bearings were repacked, new rear seals put in and BB installed. All 8 wheels have a...
The motor is on a 27' Party Barge Pontoon. It was properly winterized last fall and just commissioned for the year today. It was quite hard to get started, which is not that unusual after sitting all winter. But when we took her out she seemed to have a power problem, since we could not get...
I am running a one-owner 1984 Mercruiser 3.0 L 140 HP engine in my Stingray bowrider. The engine has run flawlessly from day one and I intend to keep it that way. I have always been meticulous about maintenance. It now has about 1200 hours. About 10 years ago I upgraded to Pertronics...
When I bought my boat new in 1984 I immediately equipped it with a new 9.9 Evinrude 2-stroke kicker. I used an OMC bracket (the one with the gas powered lift cylinder) and it has performed flawlesly until last year.
The cylinder has lost its gas and a few of the holes in the aluminum mechanism...
Looking for a new cover for my Starcraft SF14. In the past I have had only soso success with buying mail order covers. None fit too well.
Anybody recommend a supplier and manufacturer?
I picked up a set of horns cheep at a garage sale and they don't work. I diassembled them and the internals all look good. The seal was tight and didn't look like any water intrusion. Looking inside, I'm really not sure how they work. THere is a component in the center that looks like an...
