Wiring GPS and Sonar; seperate from charging circuit?

Wire all mine separate(electrically isolated from starter when starting) BUT..........not due to being paranoid of damage per-se(but I'm sure it can and does happen, depending on designs), far from it. Think some have missed the/a point here/there. I HATE starting up and sometimes having my...

    Navagation lights 1989 tracker

Not sure if yours is broken or you're wiring up something, but this would be a typical scheme. If the diode was open(not connected etc), as drawn here, it would function(errr, not function)as you have described yours acting ............. I just dropped ya in a 7 Amp diode out of my library drop...

Adding temperature gage to mercury 150 EFI

Batting almost 1000 still Duke!! But good call, I couldn't remember either, I had to go look  "Tan" on the two wire sensor setup for the gauge signal and "tan/blu" for T.S. signal(as seen above). "Tan/blu"(below) on the four wire for the gauge signal(w 2 tan/blk wires to EFI, etc)...

    150 Blackmax overheating

Very good, headway ;) If alarm still goes off, it's 1) false alarm or 2) H2O problem (Impeller etc). Second source temp. measurement helps differentiate. We'll have to be careful here w diagnostics, taking out those parts then running and then "no alarm" now can lead a guy to think its one of...

    150 Blackmax overheating

Hoelfully not repeating/treading anything here, but aside from running bad(not sure at this point if that's related to overheating, kinda thinking not)I really don't think a leaking head gasket would/could cause overheating. I'd think if there was a leak in the cylinder, it would tend to cool...

    Promariner?

Anybody run this manu's stuff? This just seems a bit better refined somehow than the Sterling unit. The layout/box and the cover perhaps, not sure. Just stuck it in, think the insides are the same as Sterling unit though, just a different box is all, not sure. The LED's layout/order all too...

    1999 Bayliner Capri 1850 Electrical/Guage pannel question

Ahhhhhhh, very good. Those are discrete gauges. So It's safe to assume that you have 12V to the Ig,s "B" terminal(see schematic) else the engine wouldn't start due to two other derived paths requiring "B"'s 12V for functionality: 1 - Neutral safty("s" path) and, 2 - Emergency S.D.("I" path)...

Since we're not on the subject anymore, here are the fish du jour. Sry for crappy photo's, had to use my camera phone. Tough catch today tho for big'ums, they are out deep now post spawn and more allusive. Maybe fished two hours casting into bank in riprap/lay down area's. Got one sorta...

    Bilge pump wiring

Yup, sounds like you wired something like #3 Here's rules take on fuses............For the 360 GPH and 500 GPH 12 volt pumps use a 2.5 amp fuse; for the 700 GPH, 800 GPH and 1000 GPH pumps use a 5 amp fuse; the 1100 GPH pumps use a 6 amp fuse; for the 1500 GPH pumps use a 10 amp fuse; for the...

    1999 Bayliner Capri 1850 Electrical/Guage pannel question

Unless the thing is like melted/chard mess of goo and wires behind the dash, doubt it needs to be replaced. Assuming it's all stock still, looks like the gauges are all discrete analog type and they feed off the same 15 amp fuse that runs to the ig(red/purple wire). Probably just a broken wire...

    Need help with anchor lights

Re: Need help with anchor lights Two diodes actually but, by the sounds of it, I suspect you sorta knew that already eh?.... Soooo,......No jumper needed, wiring is okay too, just D2(internal to the fixture I assume) I suspect is bad/open. Good call(and articulation) BTW!!

    2004 trophy pro 2002wa livewell/washdown pump fuse

Re: 2004 trophy pro 2002wa livewell/washdown pump fuse The schematic shows there is just a single breaker for the baitwell/livewell, bout it other than the inline 20 AMP that feeds everything including the livewell. Which I'm sure is good if the livewell is the only thing not working? Maybe...

6 pole on/off/on switch for bow/stern lights- Wiring help

Re: 6 pole on/off/on switch for bow/stern lights- Wiring help Nah, the wire will have a combination of all the devices current that hook to the bus run through it. Maybe like 8 or more like 10 gauge even 12 I suppose of marine grade for that boat and foreseeable loads would work...
