    Recommendations for cleaning bilge?

I've used Tide, Dawn and a couple of other household detergents with fairly good success. Won a quart of Orpine Bilge Cleaner in a raffle years back. Mix with a couple gallons of water and leave in the bilge for a couple of trips.........works great. Really helps if you use your wife's long...

    help with iffy gas?

No chemical “breakdown”. Ethanol simply combines with the water and falls out of solution lowering the octane of the remaining fuel. To “repair”, you simply remove the ethanol/water solution from the bottom of the tank and replace the missing octane (ethanol) in the solution. This could be...

Current Draw from Mercury Outboard Voltage Regulator

You could have a couple of things going on.,, Could be phantom voltage… the 117 resolution and accuracy leaves much to be desired for electronics troubleshooting. Your 1 mA could in fact be 0.001 mA Could have volatile and or non-volatile memory in the circuit to support. Not sure about your...

    help with iffy gas?

Define “bad” gas…… A separator full of water produces “bad” gas symptoms as well. Easily remedied with filters and or addatives

Anti Siphon Valve on Fuel Tank Pickup?

Perhaps our resident physics Professor Chris1956 could explain to us how to siphon liquids uphill…..lol BTW here is the regulation… I choose option (a) as I’m outboard powered. Option (b) applies to industrial egg beaters mounted in a hazardous locations. ;) § 183.568 Anti-siphon protection...

Wiring Power for Helix 5 on 2023 Glastron

Worth exactly what you paid for the information…… In an analog world 30 years ago there might have been some truth in the statement but not anymore. Auto ranging power supplies and surface mount technology have all but put it to bed. DC current flows from positive to negative. Scratching my...

    Lowrance LST 3800 compatibility

https://www.crazyaran.com/lowrance-lst-inch-in-dash-depth-and-temperature-gauge-with-khz-transom-mount-transducer The problem you have is the connector. Connectors pins and configurations vary by manufacturer. Highly unlikely you’ll find anything plug and play. The best you could do is to cut...

    Water separator

Like electricity, the fuel pump would draw from the path of least resistance which certain isn’t against a dead headed fuel pump or the one way valve in the primer bulb.

Wiring Power for Helix 5 on 2023 Glastron

Don’t see the point in running a ground wire back to the battery. Any ground connection in the boat would work. You can connect to any power source. I just prefer to feed power a dedicated supply for a number of reasons.

    2007 Sportcraft 241 walk around

Opinion of waht Quality wise, middle of the road price point boat. Pro and cons would relate to use and location. I personally wouldn't want a fishing boat with an I/O unless "bobber" fishing. Have to go diving if you get a line tangled in the prop(s) and the doghouse takes up way too much...

Wiring Power for Helix 5 on 2023 Glastron

That is the transducer wiring diagram. Has nothing to do with powering the unit. Red (red) goes to positive (+) Black (blk) goes to ground (-) I personally wouldn't power the unit off a switched source of power, but that's just me.

    Water separator

Filter/separators are gravity driven devices designed to operate on the suction side of a pump. Since the primer bulb is a simple pump, the filter goes on the suction side (before) the primer bulb. FWIiW: Pumping media into the filter is a good way to clear the water out of them… right into...

Has anyone had any experience with Attwood Integrated Fuel Demand Valve

It’s basically a one way valve to prevent pressured fuel tank from pressuring the vacuum (pump) side of the fuel delivery system. No experience with them but common sense would say either the valve is sticking or the fuel pump isn’t pulling enough vacuum to open the check valve to allow fuel to...

Bow Thruster with terminal fuse blown

Yes…..ACR (automatic charge relay) is a voltage activated relay. When the ACR active, current is free to flow in either direction. If the bow thruster battery has the higher potential of the two, it will charge the starting battery and vice versa. In effect, you’ve in effect tied the two...
