Waste Tank Level Indicator - Options?

Simple ladder circuit. Pretty obvious where the problem lies. Clean PCB with alcohol and an applicator brush then repair the 3 tracks that are damaged. worth a try before throwing in the trash

Steering system .Order new cables or new system.

I get very little if any feedback from NFB helm. Then again, I don't use trim to get out of the hole or adjust the bow. Set a neutral trim leaving the dock and typically don't touch it the rest of the day. Helm adjusted trims tabs take it from there.

Just purchased the new Lowrance HDS9 Live Fish Finder, I have a transducer question.

What transducer are you running? If you talking about a side or down scanning transducer, not working about 3 kts is a feature...... says so in small print at the bottom of the page....;)

    Electric Cars or Trucks

Fake news…. https://amp.observers.france24.com/en/asia-pacific/20210719-voitures-electriques-abandonnees-france-intox I suspect this is fake news as well. Google turns up nothing about waste fields, only articles on pending mining operations “Portugal is believed to sit on some of Europe's...

    Question on my anodes

They are all worn out. I replace mine when they porosity starts to set in. Looks to be zinc from the way they have eroded. Aluminum tends to develop “white rust” over time Here are the aluminum anodes for the trim tabs https://www.boatzincs.com/bennett-trim-tab-alum-anode-kit.html

    Restoring plastic hatches and accesses.

UV damaged plastic has lost a considerable amount of structural strength. Not to mention their sealing capabilities (orings) are most likely compromised as well. Lots of cosmetic bandaid fixes (sanding, painting) but only 1 way to fix the problem once and for all… replace

Steering system .Order new cables or new system.

Hydraulic systems have a tendency to leak in the cold. Think Challenger explosion. I’m still running the OE NFB system for just that reason When running a cable system it’s important to keep moisture out of the steering tube the the rod properly cleaned and lubed. Install a good quality rod...

    Random

Age is a meaningless number unless you buy into the theory and allow yourself to get old. At 60, I lost #40 and got back into shape. Traded beers for White Claws and bourbon. Reduced my intake of carbs and sugar which brought my elevated A1C levels back to normal. At 64, I have some residual...

Faulty fuel sender or fuel gauge?

You can change two sending units in the time it takes to replace a gauge if the sending unit is easily accessible. The dangers of working around an open fuel source is mostly over hyped. Do stupid things you win stupid prizes ;) If your uncomfortable working around fuel take it to a...

    Steel Caps or Bearing Buddys?

Heard all kind of theories over the years. Personally, I think it’s a combination of Stainless being a much softer than steel with a 60% higher rate of thermal expansion.

    Steel Caps or Bearing Buddys?

Had ss bearing buddies (SW) on my last tandem. Averaged 6,000 - 7,000 miles per season. The only real issue I had was loosing them. Lost one or two a season at $20 a pop. Adds up in a hurry, not to mention the hassle of pulling up to the ramp and finding a BB missing at 5:15 in the morning...

Chartplotter with gauges and future expansion for a lake boat?

Simrad doesn't offer "auto-routing". Keep in mind, displays are measured diagonally. A 9" Display is in reality 7.7" x 4.5". Running split screen (sonar and chart) gives you two cell phones screens (3.8" x 4.5") side by side. Add in gauges and you'll need a magnifying glass to monitor any of...

2 Fuel Water filters ,2 totally different fuel contents,Fuel pros ,have a look at this

Anything is possible, but I have a hard time believing it's a performance related. Even the worst of filters are rated 80-85% effective. Primary separation function of the a filter is primarily gravity driven. Have a hard time believing the fluid was trapped by one filter yet the other trapped...

    Saltwater Anodes

The best "zinc" depends on what material(s) your trying to protect and whether or not shore power is involved. Here is a break down by motor and drive type https://boatzincs.com/pdfs/Chart_B-Which_Anodes_Should_I_Use.pdf
