New Engine Replacement - Engine Died and Hydro locked after 5 hrs!?

Something isn’t right. At that rate your looking for a lake, not moisture. The advertised weight of an even #5200 is suspicious. Smallest motor to largest motor with no weight difference? I would call the factory to confirm the weight of your particular boat as configured before I start...

    What gauge clear marine vinyl?

Boy has it gone up….I paid $17 a can delivered to the house a couple of years ago. The good thing is that it doesn’t take much. A can should last you a couple of years.

Changing Elec motor on power trailer dolly? (from 500W to 800W), not sure what to look for on Aliba etc

Shows up as $ 775 to me. This thing handles a #6,000 load up to a 7 degree incline. Can’t see a 16’ boat weighing anywhere near that Unless it’s a gear motor you will have to address the gearbox as well.

Faulty fuel sender or fuel gauge?

Classic symptoms of a bad or failing connection and or wire. Gauges are rarely the issue. Pull the sender, (4” dia with cap) test and replace required. Make sure to install a new gasket. Generic parts…..suggest you replace with aReed type sensor. Much more stabile readings. Gas isn’t your...

Evinrude Etec 2012 150HP motor power tilt and trim stuck in down position

Do you park your vehicle straight into your garage or back in?

From a safety stand point, backing a vehicle out of a parking space has the highest probability of an accident. Fleet vehicles are backed in simply to minimize the risk. Code (local) dictates an attached garage be sheeted with fire proof drywall and inside doors are fire proof. Don’t know...

1986 hydra sport 22' walk around

Why do you think you have bad fuel? A good quality 10 micron separating filter will trap any particles coming out of the fuel tank. Carb issues can usually be traced back to degraded fuel lines. What micron separator are you running? How old are your fuel lines? If you have water on the...

    windlass

Windlass is not designed to nor should you “pull the boat towards the anchor” with a windlass. Always use your engine to power up to the anchor and break it loose. If the anchor is firmly set, tie off the rode and work it out under power.

    Saltwater eating my trailers...

To have a chance, you have to coat every square inch, inside and out with a protective and or sacrificial coating. To make matters worst, the coating needs to be rather heavy and uniform. The slightest bare spot or chip in the protective coating will immediately start rusting. Unless you can...
