GOOD NEWS. . . . The PICTURE UPLOAD FUNCTION IS WORKING !!! The tech folks at the parent company have been able to remedy the issue. You can upload pictures once again. Thank you for your patience.
What brand?
What are you doing or not doing to it?
A good quality hot dip trailer should last a good long time
I’ve replaced the rear axle and the rear cross member on mine in 15 years of ownership.
Going with aluminum in the next couple of years if I decide to keep it
Dissimilar metals corrosion is the by-product of difference in the electrical potential between two surfaces. Something as simple as a loose or missing grounding wire can set the process in motion.
Simple test...set voltmeter to ohms... measure resistance between the ground bolt on the motor...
If you don’t need hydraulics for autopilot I would save a ton of money, and problems going forward, and just replace the cable.
A friend has a second station on a 23’, 9-6” beam on a bracketed outboard powered boat. Hardly ever uses it and it takes up valuable cockpit space while fishing...

3. Power out (to distribution panel)
There is no negative on the switch.
You tie the two batteries together with a ground cable then connect the engine ground to the same ground...
Yes
Still not sure... did you or did you not have the over voltage condition prior to you making your wiring modification?
Your "about 4-5min until voltage climbed to 16V" is interesting.
Perfectly normal behavior for an unregulated system. Current drops as battery is replenished at which...
The issues are related. Something happened that introduced a power surge into the system when you switched to battery two.
The electronics are simple enough but you need a detailed schematic or a OEM manual to work through things.
The constant alarm is a know failure mode of the horn
Two or...
Well that tell us there is control circuit in there.
Violet is power and tan is control. Grounding tan should cause an alarm but not sure how you test the logic.
Hard to go wrong with Michelin.
Replaced the OE Wranglers on the pickup at 30k miles with Michelin Defender LTX M/S.
Just put a set of 10 ply, E-rated, Carlisle Radial Trail HD of the same size on the horse trailer. We’ll see how they hold up
By definition an asset has value. You could sell the asset for money if you had too.
A liability has no intrinsic value. Worth nothing, a debt or loan.
How do you depreciate something with no value?
The value may be less than the loan, thus the “depreciating asset” moniker, but none the less...
