Float ground goes to the battery. Power is supplied via a 3 way bilge switch.

Can't seem to find a big enough fuse block

Not properly sizing the wiring is what gets people into trouble in this excerise. The 18 circuit block is rated to 100 amps. The 6 circuit is 100 amp as well 1. Wiring to fuse blocks should have no more than a 3% drop. 2. Length of wire from source to fuse block and back to source = X Not...

Can't seem to find a big enough fuse block

No problem daisy chaining the two blocks together if the wiring is sized correctly.

Question on vents on Starboard side of boat

They are either drains or intakes. Thru hulls can be threaded or have hose barbs. I had both when I replaced mine with stainless steel a few years back

Question on vents on Starboard side of boat

Plastic thru hull fittings that have deteriorated from UV exposure and broke off. Strongly recommend you replace every thru hull on the boat. Many a boat have sunk as the result of a failed thru hull

2000 200hp saltwater series lost fuel prime

No.....the anti-siphon valve is typically built into the fitting where you connect the fuel line to the tank. Bear in mind that this can only be a problem if you have a leak (vacuum) somewhere in the fuel system.

2000 200hp saltwater series lost fuel prime

Check the anti-siphon valve. If it sticks open or is missing, a leak upstream will allow the fuel to drain back into the tank

Great time to sell a used boat.

This is pretty much true no matter what price you buy at. Good reason to keep a years worth of expenses in the bank at all times.

Mercury 115 CT 2.1l Bay star steering good ?

The displacement of the helm determines the speed (flow) in which the cylinder reacts and force (pressure) applied to the cylinder. Increasing the hose size does nothing to increase the flow and will actually reduce the pressure applied to the cylinder. The additional fluid inside the larger...

Great time to sell a used boat.

People typically buy home on loan payments, not price. If the bottom where to fall out of the market tomorrow, they may loose some equity but their payments will go unchanged.

Mercury 115 CT 2.1l Bay star steering good ?

Sea Star is for outboards 150+ HP. Over kill for a 115 HP Over sized hoses buy you nothing unless you update the pump displacement of the helm as well.

Separate electrical systems on boat (engine, trolling, house).

Nine out of ten times, it’s RF or EMI that interferes with electronics on a boat. Connecting the electronics a second battery will not resolve the issue. You have to find the root cause and fix the problem. Fwiw: Trolling motors are notorious offenders either by poor design or the “power saver”...

    Installing System Check harness questions

Connector goes on motor. Flat level wires run to gauge at helm My volt meter is attached to the “power” lug on the battery switch. Meter be wired pretty much anywhere, but wanted a direct connection to keep the reading as direct as possible

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

If you have never boated in tidal water your in for a rude awakening......lol Doesn’t have to be windy to keep you at the dock. Wind speed, tides, moon phase and wind direction all have to be factored in. Even the battles cruisers (60-70’ offshore fishing boats) are forced to wait out...

Vesselview link to lowrance elite ti2 from new Mercury 115hp outboard

The harness going to ignition switch and gauges is analog. You need to connect to the digital port with some sort of a gateway. In reality you may need two gateways if the vessel gateway doesn’t support a NMEA 2000 connection

    Calibrating SC1000 guage after repower

I can see doing distance to empty from fuel consumption, mine does that as well, but what is the point of entering multiple fuel levels if your running linear calculations? On mine, you can build a correction curve to make the gauge (digital) read correctly

    Calibrating SC1000 guage after repower

Yes, it will recalculate assuming you captured the “range” of the sender correctly to begin with. I believe he started the multiple-point calibration before filling the tank and the computer captured this 35 litre value as empty. Switching over to linear mode would solve the problem until you...

    Calibrating SC1000 guage after repower

The range of the gauge doesn't matter since your indirectly defining a range of values (empty = x ohms), (full = x ohms) and the capacity as part of the configuration. Simple math from that point
