Hey Fellas,What type of Props do Force outboards use

Hub is unique to the installation in a given prop diameter range. The difference is the number of teeth on the spline. Somewhere is a standard that specifies the barrel dimension on a certain range diameters...like 13-14" diameter use a 4 1/4 housing so the prop barrel (to which the blades...

    Loaded pontoon cavitation

That's a good point. Not that the toon is overloaded causing the condition, it's how it's loaded.....Thinking about it, the lounges are midship and forward.....so the passengers do what you said when using the lounge seats. Edit: You know it's amazing the difference in sitting in front of...

Broken skeg and play in prop shaft.

The in and out may just be the overrun clutch. You said broken metal at the propeller base but did not say propeller had broken metal. With that I am assuming the skeg took the hit and the prop survived...since it was probably up in the air as compared to the tip of the skeg. Put the shifter...

Anyone know anything about Corvair(?) or maybe Traveler boats?

I have an OOPS in my reply. The word was Corvair which was a GM Chevrolet rear engine, opposed 6 cyl car made in the '60's. I mistook it for Convair the aircraft mfgr. I agree with Jim its probably a model. How about this for one model in Fiberglass which a lot of aluminum boat mfgrs. went...

Wrong prop or bad tachometer....4.3 Mercruiser AlphaOne

I'd say your tach is off. If that engine were running that RPM, with no "performance upgrades" it wouldn't be running very long!s (opinion)

Hey Fellas,What type of Props do Force outboards use

I have seen the same props on dual exhaust and thru hub prop engines. The dual I have seen with a conic extender on the hub. 15 spline 13+" props fit. Some props have pressed in hubs and others have removable hubs. Removable hubs are pretty much manufacturer specific so you have to be...

What Prop on my Yamaha 9.9

The utility prop sold with small engines is for all around performance. 10 hp is only 10 hp. It can't do the work of a 25. Before one could answer your question you need to supply 2 pieces of information......for starters: Engine wide open throttle RPM range...like 4000-5000 type thing and...

1986 90hp Mercury IL6 dies when put into gear

Idle RPM may need to be set higher also. I had an '88 115 and don't remember where the idle set screw is. Usually it's on the linkage and probably is a white nylon finger adjustment kind of set...with a lock nut. On later looper engines the RPM was 675 in F gear in the water boat...

    Hydraulic steering hose leak

I don't know about boats but most hydraulic systems carry a lot of pressure and mickey mouse repairs won't get it. I'd buy new and be done with it. Teleflex Marine builds and markets steering systems. I have used their products for 10's of years. They also sell replacement hoses. I just...

fuel restriction issue 2000 johnson 150 ocean pro

Whatever it is, the air that is supposed to replace the fuel the engine sucks out of the tank isn't getting replaced or fuel isn't getting transferred from the tank to the fuel pump! I suppose the engine fuel filter is on the output leg of the fuel pump....if not could be clogged with crud from...

1999 21FT Fish Master Tank Capacity

If you can't find an answer you might contact Travis Marine in Lewisville, Tx.....I guess they are still in business. I had a 17.5' 2002 Fish Master. Trying to recollect...I think mine was 18 gallon. I would imagine yours is at least 24 gallon. My Avatar is a picture of it with the 90 Merc I...

    Loaded pontoon cavitation

You are probably ventilating...sucking air into your slip stream. Usual causes are engine mounted too high, too much pitch for the load to be pushed, or obstructions preceding the new water that flows into the prop causing bubbles. Unless you are unreasonably high, I'd guess that you have...

1977 Evinrude 75 hp on 16 fiberglass runabout prop question

You shouldn't notice the difference in diameter....if you change manufacturers or models the new prop could run different due to different blade geometry, variable pitch and other things not related to the 1/4" increase in diameter. The engine WILL notice the 2" change in pitch! Forget that.

    125hp ELPTO 2+2 miss/hesitation at high speeds

I got the 2015 revision of the original manual covering 1994 or 5 to the end of production on ebay for a decent price. In the revised edition I found the timing starting in section 2C. 2B-26 was still covering starter maintenance. Thanks for looking that up sir. Will copy and include in my...

When you said you lost power from the engine getting too hot, do you mean the engine seized? If so, you will need an overhaul. BTDT

    Studebaker boat

On the cars and trucks, very reliable, inexpensive, well built/designed vehicle. We had them back in the 50's. Boat looks pretty stout too regardless of origin.
