    Cable may be marked what its measurement or you can measure for it. Distance from helm to the transom and then side to the center of the transom. Round up to nearest foot. You’ll likely need a new helm not just cable

    I generally like boating more in September- October. No ramp follies ( unless it happens to be me, then nobody’s there to see it usually lol )… I haven’t even been out yet but have a few trips planned after Labor Day. I’ll run till November with my little outboard

    tricks to push outdrive in

    Make sure both the shift lever on the outdrive is in forward and the shift control is in forward. Also you need to make sure your engine is alligned

    Idk the GM 2.7 4cyl sells pretty good and they run okay. Very few problems with them unlike the V8s which have camshaft issues related to the AFM and usually require a new engine.

    Pretty sure you have a Ford EEC IV ECU making that run. It’s running marine specific programming and some of the sensors are marine specific. But Ford EEC IV codes may make some sense
