small electrical item off the battery...anyone know what this is?

The circuit breaker rating is on the Truflex part you posted. Have a look at these with the metal cover removed. There are plenty of replacements out there. You need to find the load it's protecting and size the replacement accordingly.

Help to identify the boat year and model.

I'm thinking 1965/1966 Starcraft Jet Star. Looks the same as other photos online. 1165 looks like a production date code to me.

    Yep, another prop question!

When you can, provide the following info..... 1. Wide open throttle rpm as indicated above 2. Drive ratio 3. Intended use/desired qualities 4. Gross weight, typical/max Once you've got that, there are numerous online calculators available that can narrow down the optimal prop.

I have yet to find any online information about deciphering Volvo beep codes. Without ECM data, you're just working blind.

2008 Volvo Penta 5.0 GXi will not start, odd alarms

Congrats! A great feeling when you can figure out a not so obvious problem! Even though I sometimes assume the worst, it's always good to check the simple stuff first.... I've been bitten a few times myself! Have you considered putting in a dual battery system? Mark

2008 Volvo Penta 5.0 GXi will not start, odd alarms

First thing I would check when experiencing electrical gremlins are all of the ground points on the engine block, ground block and all battery terminals (clean and tight). Mark

    2012 VP 300 C-A Exhaust manifolds getting too hot - DTC 441 & 442

Been following this topic since the beginning and have a comment regarding the availability of Volvo VCS coolant. My V6-280-M is also a closed system and I wanted to get some Volvo coolant to keep on hand to top up the expansion tank just in case. I have not been able to find any. I passed by...

    1972 Grew SS245

Had a very similar model back in the 80's. Set it up for salmon fishing on Lake Ontario. Back in the days of paper chart sonar and LORAN C navigation! Great, solid boat in the rough water. No major issues from what I recall. Only one shift coil went bad. I had the same engine and put in a...

    Grew 237 Prop Question

I had a 1970 Grew 234. One of the first projects undertaken before launching it was to cut the cuddy floor out and remove the waterlogged foam. Best I could tell, water came in through the rub rail screws. Mark
