    javelin bass boat 396XFD

Can you see where the tank goes? I'm guessing you don't have to cut to access it (I don't think you did on those boats). Quick search on the 396 said 25 gallon tank. But if it'll fit in the space, and won't overload the boat (weight wise) - you can use any marine tank.

    javelin bass boat 396XFD

Javelin and Stratos used to be made here in Tennessee. I think they were eventually sucked into OMC ... then of course, OMC went away. They haven't been made in a while. You won't find much about the hulls online. Boat manufacturers didn't publish manuals for the boats.

    Docking Aid

@Audiophobe - I edited your first post. It is against the rules to directly post to a website that sells boating accessories and such. Welcome aboard.

Stalling after long idle and then starts no problem

As asked above, let us know what the whole driveline is - Merc, OMC, etc. - that helps us give ideas.

    OD 11 dagger board

Yes, that's how it would have probably worked. You might try a bungee to hold it in place, but make sure it can travel up if you hit something. Alternatively, consider making or buying a new one. They're not cheap to buy new, but if you're any good with woodworking they're not terribly hard to...

    Barefoot skiers?

Close to the same story for me. Except we bought the new(er) boat, and got the jacket at the same time.

    Vinyl Wrap

First thing I'll mention is that vinyl thin. It will show many/most textures beneath it. It's harder to install vinyl than it is to produce it (full print or just cut color). Sometimes one mistake can cost you an entire graphic. I've done it more often on interior projects and cars, but it's...

    OD 11 dagger board

Welcome aboard: photo posting isn't working on the forums right now, you have to link from a hosting service (like imgur). The daggerboard should mostly stay down on it's own when you're sailing. I don't recall any of them I've used having something to "hold" them down (bungee / strap /...

    Cleveland ohio national airshow

Fast look: HERE is the restriction from '22. USCG office should be able to tell you if it's the same for '24.

Not that show ... but I have here in Tennessee for one of the local airshows. Great way to watch.

    2013 Bayliner 185

The Bayliner isn't terribly different from my boat. Mine I inherited from my folks when they didn't want to run it any longer. So, the reason I have a Bayliner is it was free. BUT, that said - my Capri has been a good boat. It's efficient and runs quick enough for anything that I do. The ride...

    Navionics

I'm a Garmin fan, but for the products I use most ... I don't pay for them. So, there's that. It's unfortunate that Navionics is going that direction. It was a good platform that was very reasonable. But I haven't used them for navigation in a while. I've been using the native maps in my...

    Boat Value Question

I have to admit here in Tennessee: a 25 year old boat with a blown motor is a freebie. The trailer you can sell, and the stern drive could be sold on it's own. But all together, it's worth a couple hundred bucks to someone at the most. Sorry: I know that's hard.

    76 OMC 175 starting

I should add that I think the shifter in your image is mechanical shift.

    76 OMC 175 starting

It's not you, pictures are broke on the forum right now. If you look on the engine block, can you find an ID number? It should be something like 990229A11. That doesn't look like the remote I'm used to seeing on an electric shift. Does your stern drive look like this?

    76 OMC 175 starting

Does your remote look like this: That's what I had with the electric shift. In which case, the start sequence for me, I would push the throttle forward and return it to neutral once or twice before starting. Then, the red lever on the back of the remote gets switched up (that's effectively...
