    Biggest problem with boating?

Generally, in my opinion, the biggest problem in boating is "you." Knowing why you boat, knowing how much money you're willing to spend, what you're willing to learn and do, what you intend to put up with, etc. Owning a boat requirers effort and money; how much of either is up to you. Being on...

    Boat Disposal

The trailer is at least worth trying to sell. The boat could be a "freebie" bonus that comes with it.

    Boat Disposal

Here where I live, a bill of sale is enough to register a boat. So, I would start by trying to sell the hull. If it had to be trashed, I can drop one off for about $150 ... or cut it up into pieces that will fit in the back of the truck and drop it off for about $25.

    Boat not planing

Max allowable horsepower on the tag is 32.4 And I'm curious if that's a different standard overseas than here in the States - I believe there are sometimes differences. Regardless, 75% of 32.4 is 24.3 (pretty close to your current HP) ... as a rule / or a good cheat sheet anyway, you don't want...

    Does E3 make marine plugs?

I've cleaned up the thread a little bit. Let's keep this one from getting too personal y'all.

    Boat not planing

I can't see much of your boat from the picture, but I can tell you from what I see that boat is underpowered with a 25HP. I'm assuming that your boat without the 6HP on the back, and three adults in it, will have a hard time planing; and it shouldn't.

I had been looking at the Rabco boat.

    Boat not planing

That's not the buccaneer I've been looking at. That boat doesn't look like a max HP of 25. Is that what's on the rating?

    New Sailer getting started!

The Macgregor is a little more of a rhino compared to the slick lines of the Hunter. I would think that gives the Hunter a performance advantage, but the attraction of the "stoutness" of the Macgregor would possibly be a big draw to me. Is the sail package the same for either boat? If one has a...

    Mercruiser 3.0 starter

Turns out the shop I used to use is out of business. But I was recommended to another shop that does the same type of work; and the two guys know each other. I dropped the starter off to them last week. Picked it up today. Solenoid was bad, and the brushes needed a good cleaning. There was...

    Boat not planing

Suzuki 6 should be between 50 and 60lbs. If I read right on the Buccaneer, max capacity is 800lbs, so i suppose there's a chance with two good size guys, gas, lunch, gear and the aux motor you're just overloaded.

I thought towing doubles was legal in some states? 😁

"No Mr. Foxworthy, it's not illegal to tow a boat in this state. But we do ask that you put it on a trailer. Heck, you lost your skier about a mile back!" - Jeff Foxworthy, No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem

    Boat not planing

If it were me: I would pull the aux motor off, load up like normal and take the boat for a ride. IF the boat planes easily, then it likely has something to do with the aux motor. IF the boat struggles to get on plane, but does plane, then it's likely a power issue (either too little HP on the...

    Lost bill of sale

Plenty of hulls out there looking for a good outboard. You might also check and see if your state requires the outboard to be registered. If not (I don't know of too many) then that can be put on another hull relatively easily.

    Boat not planing

Something seems a little off to me. The boat used to plane just fine before you mounted the additional motor, correct? I think 25HP is max on that boat. Right? Is it just you on board?

    Lost bill of sale

^^^^ So ... don't do that. You might ask Wildlife and Fisheries the process to register a boat if you rebuild one that was abandoned. They may have a path for you there.

    Lovely but What?

U.S. Marine was Bayliner. When Brunswick bought Bayliner, the U.S. Marine moniker (mostly stamped on accessories for Bayliners) was done away with. The boat is a Bayliner Capri Closed Bow, like jerryjerry said. Closed bow was far less common. Most of them were bowriders or cuddy cabins. You...

    does anyone know?

Did you run this boat last year? Or is this a new-to-you boat? I believe you're showing one of the drain valves to drain the block for winter storage. It needs to be closed. I was always able to turn mine by hand, but maybe you'll need a little extra pressure with a pair of pliers. - But it's...
