    Maybe I'm Maybe I'm having a brain fart. But my manual shows #8 as the rear most (toward the transom) point on the distributor. Tpen and other quick searches online show #8 as the front most pin. I'm wondering why they're esentially opposites.

    I guess my concern was if they previous owner had it set on tdc for exhaust the rotor could be 180* from where it should be.

    I used a inline tester and had spark on all points. I did put an order in for a cap and rotor. Figure I might as well do that now.

    Distributor has not been off. Pulled wires and plugs and put new ones on. Then reran all the wires as the manual stated. Knowing I was replacing the wires I didn't check the order they were in when I pulled them off the cap. Just figured I would go by the service manual.

    Yes. I actually went back to the previous coil that was in when the boat ran (but misfired). Could the previous owner have installed the rotor 180*?

    That's unfortunate. I really thought it running perfectly on the trailer every would be good. Now we're back to square one.     I tried readjusting all the hoses. Same deal. Looks like it's been that way for a while though. If I can get 2 clamps on the corsa split, I can barely get 1 one the y pipe, and vice versa.
