    GPH Question

Fuel flow meter is what you need . Way to many variables to even get into . The odds of someone having your exact setup and being on this forum are astronomical. Sorry but this is probably info that you will have to find on your own.

    Fuses

Should be on the other side of the "dashboard " if not trace the wire from the switch. Did you run a continuity test on the bulb itself or clean the contact points on light assembly ?

    What's too old to consider?

I think you meant anything newer than 1992 . The GW is known for having bad transoms , possible stringer issues and gas tanks replacement as well. So buyer beware , survey should be done depending on your hull knowledge. Facebook has a Grady Life- Grady White Owners Club ,,,Grady White Only...

1964 California Boat Company 19’ Californian

Doesn't get any better than having a J B Hargrave hull . Hatteras was one of the many lines of boats he designed.......If your bullet is cracked but not destroyed have you thought about having it welded ? I have seen it done before and turn out as good as new.

If the boat has a fiberglass diamond grip deck I would not cover it.

Does This Trailer Look Big Enough For The Boat?

After making sure that aprox 10% of your weight is on the trailer hitch I would cut the excess bunks off at the transom with maybe a inch or two extension to keep any hook from developing on the hull over time while it sits on the trailer. They [ looks like a Venture ] probably make a generic...

    Planing houseboat choices

Hahahahahaha.. 50 ' houseboat with any engine [s ] is not going to get less fuel consumption at any displacement speed , including "incredible fast " than his 33' Bert.

    Plywood cover for open bow

Why in the world did you not listen to yourself and buy a boat with a closed bow ? If you had that thought bouncing around in your head for decades some simple research would of told you ,yes , closed bows are the way to go considering the type of water I am boating in.

    Plywood cover for open bow

What is the purpose of it ? Casting deck , rain protection ,wave protection ? You have a lot of sharp corners on your metal brackets which should of been rounded off at the very least. Exposed bolt heads vs acorn nuts that stop on the head of the bolt is also a good idea. If for fishing platform...

    Bass Boat Basics

Someone has to make the 50 mile run for the steering cable , your going to need it one way or another. I have many customers that commute that far everyday in a car , heck I drive almost 35 miles to get to my dock and I do that pretty much twice a weekend for 5 months.

    Bass Boat Basics

I would look.for any mounting holes that are probably located on the starboard side about the mid length of hull. Have the engine controls ? The cables should end in the same area and also have screw or bolt holes located on the inside of the gunwales. Existing steering cable with engine end...

1979 searay 300 trips breaker no shore power

3 black wires ? Who juried rigged that ? Anyway you have to start at the tank to see what black wire goes to the power side and what to negative. The 3rd should be one that is grounded to earth , like a 3 pronged GFI house plug. White should be positive in case you run across a splice that...

Outdrive trim pump, where is the power source

The control switch should be where the pump gets its power from. Not sure how a Volvo outdrive is set up , Bennet trim tabs are powered that way. You have to follow the hot wire to probably the fuse/circuit breaker panel or the battery.

Chris Craft (Calypso 26): Does the low windshield deflect wind&spray?

Probably not going to deflect spray . I had a small windshield on a fly bridge that slanted forward . That configuration did push air up and over your head even though the shield was closer to chest/ shoulder height. Never got spray up there to see if it would move that . Take either boat for a...

The T Top and trailer are worth 2-3 grand all day long.. Throw some Marine Tex into the crack by the rub rail , don't worry about the soft spot . Use it for a year and decide if you want to fix the soft spot and keep the boat. Worst comes to worst you can sell it down the line for 2 grand ...

Without knowing your budget your asking a loaded question so to speak. do you plan on fishing with it ? Or just day cruising ? I would be looking for a 31 Tiara or something in that class size. Check out boattrader.com or Craigslist and widen your search into Ohio and Michigan. I have a 27"...
