    It is a 2 Stroke, of a Design that does not have a Camshaft(2 Stroke Diesels do) No Special Tools are needed. And the Crankcase has to be split to get at the Crankshaft. However, unless it is the Center Bearing, the Upper and Lower Bearing are serviceable, with out splitting the Case It a 1985...

    Gee, My car(s) have more than enough Power to exceed the Speed limit by very wide Margin(one even has a Speedometer that goes up to 260mph), but rarely if ever is that power drawn upon I can certainly Ignore you

    Laws are different in my Country, it actually has no regulations against putting an Engine of more Horsepower. Dealers have rigged boats rated for 90hp, with 200hp.

    Yrs ago Merc used a couple of different sized sets of Connectors that were very good, then they switched to the problematic style similar to OMCs, which are always leaking Fuel, or sucking Air in.

    WOT Range for Engines of that Era, is likely 3700-4200 I think that Engine was about 215hp Edit: "(No Outdrives on the boat when I got it )" Did the Outdrives at least come with the Boat-Motor?

    I overpowered a few Boats, but I always informed the Insurance Company that, in Writing and also had them Acknowledge they were accepting that, in Writing.

    I suspect a lot of posters here have never had to deal with an Insurance Company when a boat has a fire... If any part that needs USCG Cert, doesn't have it, kiss your claim goodbye

    To look up the correct Parts list, I would need a Serial #. When you cleaned the Carbs, did you remove what look like little Frost Plugs, and get the area behind them, all cleaned out? New Discs come with the Carb Kits.

    Is the Primer Bulb installed in the correct direction? If it is and it is not moving Fuel, one or more of the Check Valves in it are stuck open Have you tried spraying a bit of Premix into the Carbs?

    So are you also bypassing the Fuel Pump? Or does this motor have 2 Fuel Pumps, one for each Carb?
