    I don't see why not. It's more to help hold more resin than for structure. Use it if you already have it, but if you're ordering materials I would just stick with the mat.

    Before the floor is permanently fastened, get some metal plates screwed to the bottom side where the seats go. I see this a lot when we replace floors, but it's always on aluminum boats, usually Lunds. I think the idea is so the seat screws won't pull through if the floor rots.

    My idea, change it to support panels running from back to front, walling off the bilge area. Then put in some easily removed sideways panels. Keep the structural support but get easy access.

    The bottom sees the most abuse, so use the strongest filler you can. Fiberglass doesn't really dent though, so I'm curious what that really is. If it's just some factory imperfections then no big deal, but if something hit it and pushed it in then that's likely damage that needs fixed. Pics?

    Question on Lund Renegade

    Google is showing me various designs for that, but Lunds are usually either under the floor or the rear casting deck. If it's the floor, the center section will have exposed screws so it can be pulled up for service.

    That's even worse. The rubber will just trap moisture against the wood and make it rot faster. Do a layer of csm on the bottom of the floor and that will give you plenty of water protection. Or at least as much as all of the other wood anyway. Kept well it will last 20 years or more.

    Yes. Seal every bit of bare wood. You can leave it assembled to do it. It will soak in a bit, so let the first coat set for a bit, and do a second. You can see the dry spots pretty easily with some light. You could also use a layer of csm to help hold more resin. Brackets should be fine.

    Why the high dollar plywood? You could just use some non treated 5/8 from lowes and put a layer of glass on each side for water protection.

    Hmmm, maybe. It wouldn't give you much material for attaching hardware though, and you wouldn't be able to staple the upholstery to it. I would still suggest using a core material of some sort. Is the idea to not use wood to avoid rotting?
