    fuel connector

No such thing as a universal connector that I have ever saw....each package should be marked with what outboard the fitting will fit. Many folks have issues with cheap aftermarket fuel connectors, you might be better off with a genuine factory fuel connector even though a bit more costly..

True, but electrolisis on the plastic??? I would say poor paint job, but the plastic is also bad, unless the plastic was painted with the same crappy paint....??

    1972 Cathedral Trihull Prop Size

Had a similiar issue some years back, bought an I/O, 3.0 engine with an extra outdrive. Owner couldn't get the rpm up high enough. Examination found he had a 1.65 ratio outdrive, the "spare" outdrive was the 1.98 ratio needed for the 3.0 engine!! I replaced the seals and installed the 1.98...

    trailer tires

I really like radial tires on my vehicle, but not a fan of them on trailers. I have found I get more sway with radials, have to balance weight more carefully. Switching to bias ply solved many of those issues, just my two cents.

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Whew....glad I am still old school, 2 stroke outboard!!! Started first crank on last years stabilized left over fuel. Battery was at full charge from being left on a maintainer all winter....this is about as technical as I get!!

How do you guys mix Gas

Thanks for the battery repair offer, but I have been involved in R/C toys for many years, well versed on batteries. Nothing wrong with progress but at what cost? New technology is being forced upon us at a finnancial rate that the majority can't afford, that is my real concern. With much of...

How do you guys mix Gas

I tried the electric yard tools but not impressed, if I had a small city lot they might be ok but I can't make it around my property without using multiple batteries. The electric tools do not have the power of the gas tools either. However, to each his own, my only real issue with electric...

How do you guys mix Gas

Well....how many 2 stroke outboards are on the market?? Gov't standards have eliminated 2 strokes...no conspiracy, just fact !! Wait a few more years until we have to go electric !!!

Furst boat and first restoration project, have some questions.

Curious here, no mention of the 1972 transom wood...probably not very solid...would hate to see that motor take a swim from a bad transom !! In case you didn't know...they don't float, not for even a second !!

How do you guys mix Gas

I have to admit that my oil injected Merc has spoiled me even though mixing oil and gas never bothered me for the past 60 years, just got into the routine and never thought much about it. Now when I fill the fuel tank, I just top off the oil container. I am not ready for a four stroke either...

    25 seapro 2 stroke - Oil/ fuel in water

What is your definition of good compression? In the pic of the housing with the gray goop running out...is there a ding in the housing or just a funky angle??

    Need some help fellas !!

While a battery isn't necessary to start it, you might find using the electric starter much easier than pull starting a 40 hp !! If it has set for some time, that might take a lot of pulling !!

    bilge problem

My built in radio has a power switch as well as the on/ off button, when the power switch is off, the meter shows NO power going to the radio at all, yet the memory stays, all winter long !! Guessing a built in battery ?? Lawn mower is similiar...removed the battery over the winter, but the...

How do you guys mix Gas

The new oils are far better mixing than ever, but are you a gambler??? Some are, some aren't !! Being from the old days and not willing to gamble on a 5K outboard motor, I will stick with what I know works ! Some folks are very lucky or fortunate to have had sucess without trying.

Aerator water Pump & drain overflow port.

On my old 14' from years back, you either drained it when out of the water, or you flipped a valve and it would suck the water out while underway...kind of a goofy setup but ut worked. I never use a livewell, if I keep it, I eat it, otherwise it goes back.. My two livewells are plugged and...
