    A leaking Lower Unit would not be leaking at the top of the 5 inch Extension. have you done a Sniff Test on the stuff doming out of the Drainage Hole? If the stuff leaking out stinks to High Heaven, it is likely Gear Oil

    A 19 with Cup is different than a 19 without Cup. Some will say it is like adding an Inch or 2, but is a bit more involved/complicated than that Somewhere on that prop, the Dia and Pitch should be shown

    OD 12 22. Could that be code for 12" Dia, and 22" Pitch? The original prop don't look like it had any Cup, OMC didn't start putting cup on its AL props until around the mid 80s. The Solas, has some Cup on the Blade Tips

    Depending on how old the Impeller is, and/or if it has been run dry? An dry brittle Impeller with vanes about to break can still move a lot of water.

    Normally I cheer when a 4 blade is ditched and replaced by a 3, but on a Pontoon, a 4 blade 14 x 12 may have been better when loaded down

    I wouldn't recommend it. Gaskets should be replaced, as they are often damaged on Disassembly, and even if not, they have done their Compressing the first time they were used

    So you have a completely different prop replacing the old one, so results are going to be different. There much more a Propeller than just Diameter and Pitch. You say the Solas has thicker Blades. Thinner Blades are more Efficient than thick Blades. Contour, would be referring to the Blade's...

    Yo say you replaced it with a 'Same Spec' Prop. Same Brand, and Model? How old was the so called Factory Prop? Was the old Prop Vented? Do both props have the same Blade Shape, Contour, Rake, and Cup?

    I guess there could be a Typo on the Chart. Where it lists 5 1/2 and 6, it probably should state 1954 - 1965, the listing for 6hp should be be 66-thur 76. It was from one of OMC Accessory Catalogs.

    There were 3 blade Props from OMC that were for the 65 and later 6hp. Some Metal, others Plastic
