    RPM Too High?

Make sure you know what the Recommended Rpm Range is. If it is 4400-4800, then you are a couple of hundred over, and you will need to add an extra inch of prop. However most Prop Lines use a 2" difference, so you would be looking at about a 400 rpm drop, which puts you in the center of the...

    1968? Mercury 350 2 stroke.

Welcome to iboats Based on the Merc 350 Decal on the upper Cowl, and the lower Cowl cover, I would say it is a 1969. Before you go firing it up, there are a few things you should do. First check the Compression, and the Lower unit for Oil and/or Water. I would drop the lower unit and replace...

    Damage During Winter Storage

One would think a Paid Storage Lot would have some Security patrolling the Lot looking for signs of Vandalism/Damage. I suspect the Operators were more concerned about counting the Cash...

    Damage During Winter Storage

Welcome to iboats I would speak to an Attorney regarding the Marina's Liability. Unethical Businessmen, of which there are many, will always try to Weasel their way out of their Responsibilities. If you take them to Court, also go after them for your Legal Bills as well

Water coming from spark plug hole inline 6 following overheat

If you overheated the engine, the Cover Plate likely warped, and a new gasket will only seal for a bit. That happened on my 84 115 back in the mid 80s. After replacing the gasket 3 times, sometimes Dry, other times with sealer, the Service Manager at the dealer, gave me a new Cover, no more leak.

how does one flush out rust from block?

Oxalic Acid isn't Environmentally or Animal unfriendly. It is what makes Rhubarb Leaves Toxic for Humans, but I've seen other Animals eat them. Of course I didn't follow them around, so maybe it did kill them
