In the heat of the summer just leave it cracked a tiny amount so the tank doesn't swell up, in the early years of plastic tanks that is what happened to a couple of mine, swelled up and split the seam open, about three gallons of gasoline sitting in the bottom of my boat !!! Todays plastic tanks...

    Which fuel to use?

Been using ethenol fuels since they came out. Even my older gas powered toys. Did a thorough fuel system cleaning and replaced all fuel lines with alcohol approved fuel lines. Not one issue, most issues are due to lack of maintenence, your engine must be set up to use ethanol, if not you...

They make vent caps for fuel tanks with a snap on cover/ lid. Bought mine on Ebay, got a dozen plastic vents for less than 10 bucks shipped. You need the correct size hole, they snap into place, mine have never leaked. Cover snaps into place, but will pop open when pressure builds. The have...

Based on the pic you posted...if it were me...I would get an additional pair if bunk mounts so your bunks would run from the rear of the boat forward to reach the center frame member. Most bunk mounts are adjustable for height, yours will need to go high enough so the boat clears everything on...

1987 Four Winns Boat 16ft inboard would you Buy?

With your budget, you could easily double that budget if you can do all the work yourself !! Then after a complete rebuild, you could not get your money back by selling it..well worth the expense of dropping a couple hundred for a hull inspection. It coukd save you thousands!!

What depth is safe for a stern drive 16ft to 18ft boat?

Three foot of water MIN...nothing less, even then you water intake will probably suck up lots of silt and mud which will wear the Water pump prematurely. Very risky at water under 4' deep !!

Basically, you need to get some bunk brackets to attach to your trailer, the bunks (2x4 or 2x6) will attach to the brackets to support your boat hull up off the trailer frame. Carpet the bunks so they dont tear up your boat hull. Boat needs to be supported along its length so the hull isn't...

Early 80s Blue Fin Sportsman 18 Beam Length

Just use your tape measure and check it...widest point across the width is how they are measured now. Long ways back in the old days they used gunwale lengths around the bow, but those days are long..long gone..

1987 Four Winns Boat 16ft inboard would you Buy?

If you dont have experience, then look for an aluminum hull boat, old fiberglass boats can have so much hidden rotten wood they are not worth repairing !! Older alum boats just have wood in trabson and floor, much easier to repair. That price is no bargain in my area..

If you tow as is, you will probably mess up the bottom of your boat, it needs to be supported properly. If you dont understand then find someone in your area that is knowledgable about boats and trailers to get it set up correctly.

Need to replace a trailer tire,Hows this one?

If you only drive side roads and short distances then any tire will do, but for long hauls and highway speeds, get a good/ known quality tire...if you can afford to loose your boat in a highway speed blowout, then any tire will work.
