Regarding my propeller having a chunk broken off, I'm thinking I should get a new one because if it is vibrating from being out of balance, that could be hard on the lower unit. So, I don't care to go fast, so would a smaller prop, or less pitch be a good idea to lessen the load on the motor?

Thank you! I'll temporarily disconnect everything except the motor for now, and make sure it is directly connected to hot and ground. For the daylight use I plan on using it for this summer, I only need the motor.

Thanks, So, I should probably create a main ground wire to the fuse block under the dash that runs back to the negative post on my battery, correct?

It was really fun taking her out for my first time. I didn't find any leaks. We stayed out anchored for at least 5 hours. . I did notice a weird electrical short where if you grab two different pieces of metal on the boat you get a little itchy type sting. I do plan on going through the wiring...

yeah, looking at these pics, I can see the Suzuki doesn't have as steady of a stream as the mercury. The Suzuki needs to be deeper in water.

Thanks for that. Yes, the barrel was clear full. That's after I turned it off. I need to raise the barrel some. But yes, I do appreciate advice.

Everything is ready for her first trip since I bought her. Did the transom repair. Got both motors mounted with new impellers. Both run and shift great and pee good. I'm excited to take it out.

Yes, I have a Fish On brand on my 12 foot mirro-craft. I just took it out and it fits fine in the mounting brackets in the pic above. Thanks.

    Rod Holders

I have these mounted several places on my boat. Are these a very common hole that I can just order the actual rod holder and it'll fit in these?

$185 for a 4x8 sheet marine grade here in Portland Oregon. ACX is $80. This is at a place called Mr Plywood. I used ACX for my Transom.

    Just a few guestions

I might be wrong, but think it's the HIN that started to be assigned to boats starting in 1972. Not VIN.

    Just a few guestions

Did you get a title with it? Is it registered with the state? My 67 StarCraft hasn't an HIN, but it has a title specifying the year, and it's registered with the state.

    Suzuki 75hp

I guess what I'm thinking is, if it has good compression and the lower end is solid, if I put money in this motor, it'll probably out live me. And considering the cost of new.....

    Cracked Block Replacement

Isn't it $4000 just to join? And around $3000 a year?

    Suzuki 75hp

How much money would be a reasonable amount to put into this motor? It looks like it has been well taken care of, but it's surging and I gave it my best attempt and then decided to take it to a shop. So, assuming it has low hours, how much is it worth to keep it going?
