    what this tan wire is for? im guessing maybe water pressure or temp? does not goto my dash, only tan wire is comming off my controll box accessory plug wich has a bullet connector

    once i get it , i will be removing some of the gauges that wont be used to install my fishfinder and maybe my battery monitor as well. reaarange the gauges so i can do it .

    well i have decided to bite the bullet , my new helm will be here the end of this month. the gauges that will not be used will be removed and my fishfinder put in place and maybe my battery monitor. so without further ado, i give you my new Helm!. minus the wheel and cable.

    what would i be looking for in terms of water flowing in this location? i hate not being able to find anything at all on my engine. everything else but 1991 merc 4 cyl.

    thanks Rich, yes the cherry picker is engine hoist. the tool i am referring to is a ring that screws into the flywheel so it can be hoisted off transom. but if i can remove the motor off the tilt without removing engine off transom would be awesome. 350lbs is no joke to be handling with hoist...

    thank you. i will follow your wiring .... at least then i know its done right. lol.... going to change tommorow. thanks again for the help. as for tilt motor im going to try to remove it without having to take engine off boat as i do not have the flywheel tool nor a cherry picker....

    here is the hole where the water is flowing from when engine is running. not sure if its a threaded hole or not?

    at least i know now that the engine is fine. but that center hole where the water is flowing out of makes me a lil nervous. maybe missing a plug there? i dont know. i will check manual and see if that is something. ill also look online. but hardly ever do i find anything on 91
