well for one thing, i dont have a ignition that has purple, 3 spades. is all i have on it. i have bat, start and acc. no purples at all. the engine is a omc stringer 400. second. i like the look of the bayliner guages and dash. they work just as well as any others out there. why knock...
its a switch from a 1980s bayliner capri inboard 2 pole. going in to 1985 sunray. do i hook one from the neutral wire then to the yellow /red? or yellow/red then ground the other? i installed this dash and it came with the kill switch witch is 2 prong. will post pic

i have the trim wires hooked up . however this wire located on the back of the unit (facing stern) is not connected. what does this wire goto. ? cannot find anything on it for schematics at all.
i put the 12v red. (thick) to the switch (bat) and put the orange over to the accesories (switches). the fuse on the red does get warm , but after hearing some sizzling sounds in the fuse holder , and wiggling it then the sound stopped. i am going to switch this fuse out for a heavier blade...
with omc 400 stringer. upgraded to a bayliner dash, repaired trim motor. moved depth finder. added mp3 player and speakers, next upgrade to be a car cd deck with speakers
alright. fuse keeps getting hot with the current setup. (the way we bought it). so here is my question. should the fused big red wire (going to the switches) be on the battery terminal on ignition switch? and the orange fused thats on the ignition switch battery terminal be going to the...
no islands for us. just cruisin and takin in the summer...... and lots of time, and alot of patience to find and wait on parts. when needed. lol. already have a line on parts. but not enough. gonna keep looking tho.
and why would you say this? stringers are ok. maybe obsolete, but the parts are more plentifull then you think. everyone is selling parts because they dont like em. more parts for us stringers. lol.......
