    Personally, I don't tow my boat covered. If I had seats there were likely to go airborne, I think I'd just find a way to stow them, rather than hassling with a cover.

    Looks like a fun project. A friend of mine has a little boat like that and it is a great boat to cruise around on small lakes. While working on the restoration, be very careful with the windshield. I bet that would cost a pretty penny to replace, if you could even find a replacement.

    I installed a battery switch in part because it was very easy for something to be left on that draws current. It is simple to just turn the battery switch to 'off' when leaving the boat.

    Yes, if you have water leaking into the driveshaft bellows, it can get into your boat. Even a fairly small hole in the bellows, or a bad seal on the bellows, can let water in.

    I'd charge it and then take it to an auto parts store and have it load tested to see if it's still any good. It could be a defective battery, but the odds are much greater that something was drawing current over the week it sat idle, and that's what drained it.

    The worst part about the bedliner stuff is that when it fails - either by getting cut/abraded while beaching or by losing its adherence to the substrate - you will have a huge mess on your hands trying to remove and replace it with something intended for marine use.

    If it's bouncing that bad, I agree with the suggestion to lower tire pressure. I also notice that, when empty, my trailer skips a bit when I touch the brakes. I think the absence of any weight allows the wheels to lock up more easily.

    If you have a junction box specifically for trailers, most of them have wiring diagrams. Are your trailer lights wired in a 'star' pattern where separate leads go to each light? If so, that would explain the extra wires.
