    Curious, how are old boats disposed of that marinas refuse to haul out?

    I recall seeing this being done to an old battleship on the history or discovery channel. Every square inch of the ship had be cleaned after stripping it down. It was a big process. Then they sank it with carefully placed dynamite charges.

    Ah right you said it was pull start. So you have a pull primer then correct? If so is it closing all the way and not bleeding extra fuel?

    I’m talking about the primer valve on the motor Does it have a red lever? I could be way off base but it just a thought.

    Manual primer valve in the correct position and no leaking o rings? Just wonder if it’s getting more fuel than needed at idle. Being you have tried 2 different carbs it doesn’t seem to be an idle circuit issue unless they were both dirty.

    those 35’s from the 80’s are great motors and will last for ever if looked after.

    Don’t used starter fluid on a 2 stroke. Try squirting fuel oil mix into the carb while pulling it over. And see if it will fire. Report back.
