    any kinda "constant" alarm at key turn on, motor not started its more than likely tha oiler control module.. you can disconnect tha purple goin' ta tha module and it should stop... that module's soul purpose is ta make any kinda signal it receives "ossilate".. if its comin' on constant instantly...

    an "instant" beeeeeeeep is usually a bad oiler module... disconnect tha purple feeding tha oiler module or disconnect tha tan coming from tha oiler module at tha small term block on tha starboard side.... or both.

    this pretty much tells ya its a pressure issue between tha pump and tha block.. when you had tha pump apart did you look into tha void under tha pump where tha intakes are?.. are you positive that tha plastic "guide tube" is doin' its job with tha copper tube alignment?.. was there a rubber...

    99.9% of all production 2.0, 2.4 and 2.5's have 143* stats.. they all work tha same.. you say you are goin' by "feel".. thats no wanno. 140+ degrees is pretty warm.. you can get yourself a cheap heat temp gun to get real time reading on tha motor.... are you getting a constant...

    did you do tha complete water pump kit or jus tha impeller?.. if it works with a direct hose and not with tha gear case pump then it sounds like a supply problem???... how hot is "hot"?.. does it alarm?.. need a pressure gauge.. makes life easier.

    yeah, triggers can be one of tha more finicky (but dependable) parts in that type system... we always kept a known good one around jus for this type of scenario... gl.

    when ya guessin' with an over heat problem and no pressure guage... replace "complete water pump"(not jus impeller), poppit kit and replace both t-stats... its relatively cheap maintenace anyway... then install a guage....... jmo.

    if its tha small case it was changed somewhere down tha line.. 4 1/4" outside ta outside... tha small case only came on tha XR4 and 6... it will also be a 1.78 ta 1 gear.. if your rig is propped for that ratio and hub size it may present a slight problem with performance with any other ratio and...

    your case is a 2 ta one.. if you buy used ya will need ta know how to determines what tha ratio is by turns of tha drive shaft to turns of tha prop shaft.. tha drive shaft wiil turn 2 revolutions to1 prop shaft revolution.. your serial number doesn't give shaft length but would guess a 20"?...

    any 2.0, 2.4, 2.5 V6 gearcase from '76 ta way up in tha 2000's will bolt up if same length as yours.. ratio's will be either 2 ta 1's (2.0 150's) or 1.87 ta 1.. except tha 4 1/4 inch "small case" which will be 1.78 ta one.. but they all will fit.................

    tha gray goes ta tach signal post.. blue is tha light for tach... purple is switched power for gauge black is ground

    its also got an idle control module.. disconnect it first... it needs ta be throne away even if ya think its still good............ if tha throttle is fully closed (against stop and stop hasn't been moved) at rest and its actin' up it won't be because of foot and/or linkage
