    There is no vacuum advance on marine distributors. Depending on which advance curve the distributor has, you set your base timing so you have 34 degrees all-in So if you have a 22 degree advance, you can go up to 12 BTDC. If you have a 24 degree advance, you set base to 10 BTDC

    the 1995 motor should be a 168 tooth flywheel the 1989 motor may be a 153 tooth or a 168 tooth. worst case, you need to get a flywheel. (look for a truck manual transmission flywheel) If you have the room, should be a reasonably quick swap.
