    No issue then.-----What are you going to use to bond the tubing to the transom.-----How do you plan to deal with possible warping as tubes are welded together into a " wide board " ??----Have you looked into aluminum extrusions ( scaffold planking ) to make a structure with minimal welding ?

    That pinion shaft and the bearing are garbage.------A good used gearcase is the best option.----Or new SEI unit.----These lower units are not robust like older ones, so shop carefully.

    Correct.-----The bulb is a simple manual pump.-----It can be a useful trouble shooting tool.-----The fuel pump on the motor is also easy to inspect / install a repair kit.-----Oil injection has been tested ?----You have installed a new water pump impeller when you got the boat ?

    Johnson / Evinrude offered TILT ONLY for many years.----And 1960 / 70's were a different age.------I do not believe Mercury ever offered TILT ONLY on their bigger motors.

    Tubes were bonded in horizontally using epoxy.----Luckily I got the sticks for free.----To buy new sticks would be $60 each or more.----Aluminum tubing would work.----Is your present transom 100% flat?----Slightly curved ?

    I do not believe a prop change will boost speed by 18 MPH.-----How did the boat run for you last season?----You might want to do a dynamometer test on the engine to determine it's condition.

    I believe there is a limit switch.-----Stops UP motion.----Needed on some boats to prevent damage to the motor cowling.-----See if you can find it.----I do not believe that any tools are needed to adjust it.----Switch is item #80.----Cam to adjust it is #51
