My first Starcraft I just picked up

Cranking battery should be as close as you can get it to the motor with as short of cables as possible. Lots of angst and worry has gone into battery placement over the years here and really for no good reason unless it's a 14'er

1978 18ft Mariner: Getting Ready for June 2021 Splash..!!!

On the hull braces, personally I would add them to any boat of the era that doesn't have them from the factory, especially a Mariner that doesn't have side panels. You don't have to get them under the rib ends since the factory didn't do the bends it's tough to make the angle right and have the...

    Console placards

Those other placards are not a requirement and I've never seen them on a Starcraft before.

ISO 88 Starcraft magnum 150 literature

Not much experience around here with the glass models, we're a bunch of tin heads. ;) Only iboats info I could find http://boatspecs.iboats.com/Starcraft_Marine__1988/bp/54br1466y

1964 16' Starcraft literature and deck color

Painting decks, I would use some hardener and non skid additive like the Epifanes beads. https://www.epifanes.com/page/nonskid-beads

    1st boat - 1981 Starcraft SS 160

Those numbers are alright for that motor with it's age, I would run it until it dies which would most likely be many years to come, that 90 is not over worked at all on a 16'r.

1978 18ft Mariner: Getting Ready for June 2021 Splash..!!!

I see someone has already been into your Mariner with the addition of the green foam under deck. Are you certain this is a 78 model year? Reason I ask is that it should have the rib end braces by 78. Some advice, I know that you want to be done by June which is a very ambitious time table but...

    1988 Starcraft Mariner MR 220 V rebuild

A mod can merge the threads for you, not sure why you started another one though? @jbcurt00 https://forums.iboats.com/threads/1988-starcraft-mariner-mr-220-v-rebuild.740879/page-2#post-5638679

    1988 Starcraft Mariner MR 220 V rebuild

Every last one, I almost miss that smell of old dirty gym socks and moldy cheese when wheeling it off.

Good plan to make a knock out list and marking them off as you go. (y)

    1st boat - 1981 Starcraft SS 160

Welcome aboard and to the Starmada, glad to see you have the pic posting figured out. You have one if not THE most prolific and popular aluminum boats ever made and for good reason too they are great boats for not much money. You have a very aggressive time table to get all your work done...

    21' Holiday Rebuild

The rigid foam board cells are closed and won't pass water to become soggy. Guys have weighted down chunks in a bucket of water to test this and they weighed the same after months submerged. I'd have to say it's a waste. Different reason you paint decoys, not sure many would come into a flock of...

    1974 starcraft islander overhaul

I see, the bowed out transom skin is not a concern, the transom wood doesn't "stretch" from the sides as the wood doesn't even touch the sides. Take a look at the transom skin on my Chief with the old rotten wood still there it was bowed too, real bad after the fasteners and cap were removed...

    1974 starcraft islander overhaul

Mine has a splashwell there still so no way I can get an accurate measurement even if they were the same. I can measure from the outside edge to edge but inside there's no way.

Rivets, rivets and more rivets! (Repaired)

All of us have to learn a new trade when it comes to restoring our 'gently used' riveted aluminum boats. Disputably Starcraft boats are the most popular and prolific aluminum boat of all time and the same rivet questions come up time and time again. Rather than answer each and every question...

    1974 starcraft islander overhaul

Total transom width with the boat intact? Should be able to get close with what you have to measure, my 22' 79 is an 25" OB transom so can't imagine it would be the same.

'72 Starcraft SS New to me - Looking for design help

We don't act as a buy and sell forum as far as prices and such. Very location specific and since you have nothing into it sell for what you paid.

It is a great project although a mid late 80's dbl hockey stick V model but without the 5, no sharp bow rise with extended strakes

    21' Holiday Rebuild

I wouldn't use the plastic, just use some SS and the good ole pelican poop 5200 in a light layer will isolate if that's what your worried about.
