Post a pic of your starcraft!

Nice to see another Chief that hasn't been attacked by sawzall savants desire for an open tub. (y)

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Good representation of how corrosion starts underneath those wooden motor pads and it always amazes me how much ferrous metal bolts end up in boats.

    1983 starcraft ss180 restore

Welcome aboard and to the Starmada, You have one of the 80's lots changing models that is half smooth half lap side. After the V5 run and before SC went totally away from the laps and swooshes. (y) The 18'rs will run fine but not be a speed demon with the 88 or 90. I'm running a 115 Merc now...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

I would delete that outside wood motor pad, no need for it. I replaced mine with AL only because there were some non BIA standard mounting holes. The wood will only become a problem sooner or later and cause corrosion between the surfaces. Glad you were able to find the transom wood was...

    1974 starcraft islander overhaul

Welcome aboard, Yeah those are cool looking Islanders, what I call the old gangster chopped look. What drive set up does it have now would be the deciding factor in repowering.

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Sorry, I was referring to that green stuff in the pic, I'm thinking was some sort of deck covering just didn't know what it was made of. So does the transom wood have AL on the inside covering it? Or is it just me but I can't see any painted wood

    1965 Starcraft Holiday Restomod

Sorry to say but that original 1965 Mercruiser is pretty much obsolete. I suggest finding a complete Alpha series donor boat. The MC section here had some very knowledgeable people.

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Having some small leaks in my boats that never kick on the bilge pump over an entire day on the water I call success but there's always some that gets in just not much. Here's my SS bilge pump set up, I strongly suggest a separate float switch.

    1979 Starcraft 22' v5 center console rebuild

The mystery machine V5 :) I have to go with a conversion after seeing that cap plate and there were no livewells in SC boats of the 70's until the Super Fisherman. It would be the first 70's V5 Mariner I've ever seen. The SS was rated at 240 before having it's guts torn out, consoles and side...

For the wheel apply pulling force while using a hammer tapping the shaft with the nut on a few turns.

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Not too many guys have got a fuel tank under deck on a 16'r, most I've seen here have given up on the hope and gone above deck. I'm rooting for you! Just be sure to give the details for those who follow. :) That sort of SW damage can be just from heavyweights walking or standing in and on the...

    1971 Starcraft Chieftain Restoration/Modification

Welcome aboard, Well now that is a different take, I see now why nobody else had the same idea, a chopped rat rod steam punk hard top?

    Replace Starcraft 191 main deck

The quickest way to remove deck rivet heads and screws is with a cut off wheel on an angle grinder to zip them off. Yeah pour in foam removal is a pain, most guys just start digging it our with a small shovel the same way you eat an elephant, one bite at a time.
