    I would have a look at pistons / rings by removing bypass covers.----The 94 PSI is NOT good in my opinion.

    ????-----It is a sending unit that provides water pressure to a speedometer.-----Just push down on it to put it in the working position.----A crude , simple device developed years ago.-----Or simply throw it away and use your modern phone to get boat speed !

    That white thingy pushes down.------It is called a " pitot tube " and translates water pressure into boat speed.-----Airplanes use the same concept for airspeed input.-----

    Sounds like the classic broken ring syndrome.-----If you can rebuild it yourself make an offer for a parts motor $500 max , if it looks good cosmetically.----If you have to pay a big shop ---Take big steps in rapid succession -----As it could be a $5000 touch to make it reliable.-----That 10%...

    Overheated??----Post the actual results of a cylinder compression test.------On severe overheat a plastic washer at the top of the water tube melts.---It then blocks water flow to the motor.---Crankcase seals are known to harden with age , resulting in a loss of crankcase compression.

    " Hard to start "-----Is usually due to weak spark.----So does spark jump a gap of at least 5/16" on both leads?----And post the all-important actual compression values.

    I think you are looking at the wrong wires.-----Brown wires under the flywheel are not part of the overheat warning !!

    All the cranking may have damaged the starter.-----Take it apart for inspection and ohm check on armature.----Possibly new brushes.

    Trim issue 1995 115 hp

    I think there is something wrong with trim motor.-----High current melted the insulation.----Best to replace that motor.-----Or put a second fire extinguisher on the boat.

    Head gaskets are cheaper than powerpacks !-----You learn a lot by looking at cylinder walls.
