    Mercruiser 170/470 Starter Question

Nearly all marine I/O and inboard motors have a pilot relay/solenoid to fire the starter mounted solenoid. The current draw from the starter mounted solenoid and the length of wire from the battery to the switch to the starter so much voltage drop that it requires it

Are 88 to 95 4.3 mercruiser stock roller or flat tappet cams?

Yes they are rollers, no you can't jump ratios. The 4.3 is on the raged edge of reversion. If you want more power, go to vortec heads. Want more than the 30hp boost....go bigger on displacement as in a V8

welcome aboard. being a mid 90s bayliner. check the structure of the boat first. the transom and stringers. a 5.7 can be used in place of a 5.0

    Airmar B175 Transducer Installation

I use a bent allen key chucked in a drill to remove a bit of balsa core. that way the fiberglass acts as a guide, and the allen key chews out the core to a fixed depth. then mix up some PB (see the stickies) and fill the void. dress as needed and it will be a solid bit around the transducer hole.

there is no way to make an automotive fuel system safe for a boat by an individual. I build my own engines. many people buy their engines from michigan motorz. GM used to sell 6.2 liter 377 stock bore crate motors. the LS marine motors have been out since about 2008, so I would seriously...

same with automotive ignition systems. they do not meet the SAE J1178 specification for spark suppression.

    mercruiser 888 383

because automotive fuel systems are not spark suppressed or designed to be in a boat. if they leak fuel in a car, it goes out the open bottom and doesnt matter. in a boat, the fuel leaks in the bilge, then turns to explosive vapors
