    Agree with KJM. That's more than a drip check the filter bowl is screwed on correctly and any hose clamps are tight.

    Good job, that's what I did, other than the electrical tape. Tape won't do much good other than trap water inside. I use liquid tape over the heat shrink.

    As Kola16 said it's impossible to tell without a hearing the sound. Is it pumping ok? Is it a constant humming sound or does it change pitch?

    Need help with delayed power to trolling motor, Nav lights.

    This doesn't make sense that things are taking minutes to turn on. What size cable are you using for the trolling motor. Adding 32' of cable may make a differance depending on the cable size but should not add a delay in turning on.

    Start with the batteries. How old are they and what condition are they in? If you have a digital voltmeter check the battery voltage then check it under load like while starting the motor then measure at the starter while starting the motor.
