Have you seen this ? Had a quick look. I’m case it helps. Go to page 253. You can scroll down without downloading

Hi. I might be off track here. But what exactly is the whole issue. Is it just showing a buzzer open error, but everything is running and ok otherwise? If so…could it be that the ecu is just showing one of the 3 or 4 inherent faults that sit dormant and aren’t applicable to your engine ? I know...
Probably be less than that I’d say. Otherwise you’ll be spending a fortune more than you need and might be too rich for her too perhaps. Likely more like 200-1 guys will dose at. Just enough to buy you time, should the worst happen. Always good to keep an eye on your oil tank level before and...
Definitely seem that on the old v6 200 I had. Had 2 since then…always went pre mix. Scary how bad they are. Not sure about the smaller engines. They seem to be less prone to failure perhaps
My thoughts on it….with the huge exception of the old big v6 merc 2 strokes…I think most other systems are ok…only if the system is inspected and maintained regularly. Check oil lines or replace if needed…integrity of lines and components within. Should be ok. As far as I’ve been aware…when the...
I’m honestly not sure if it affected your model or not. It may well have, being a larger gear case. It certainly affected my 2016 CT (what the Bigfoot is called these days). Looks like this and behind the prop in exhaust cavity. They are terrible for coming loose and allowing prop slip with...
Ok. 100 is getting too high. I’m surprised the alarm didn’t sound around there perhaps.
Can’t remember if you said earlier or not. Have you cleaned the coolers recently? How’s the cooling flow out the exhaust, compared to the other ? Is your coolant header tank cap ok and holding pressure as it...
Similar. But it’s actually in the exhaust cavity area. Called a bore sleeve or exhaust bore sleeve ring. Some mercs were re called and an improved ring was made. Unlikely the issue. But thought I’d mention. Usually larger gearcase. But your CT Bigfoot came to mind
I found the same thing exactly. Only thing that might explain this…other than what has been said by everyone…might be if you have a prop exhaust bore plastic sleeve ring there. Behind the prop. White thing. There was a re call on some models with this. Mine included. Allows venting of the prop...
Yeah. Sure does
yeah. Sure looks that way. Wonder if there is a restriction somewhere in the cooling passages. Have you tried a hand held thermometer gun with the cover off to see what’s happening? Felt the head for heat etc ?
Hi. What temperature did she creep up to ? We can take it from there. I’m fairly familiar with these engines of that sort. My old man has two tamd61’s. I’ve maintained them for about 17 years now Almost. A few things that fall into the suspect list for causing this. But tell me what you saw the...
I can go from late 60’s at start of season, down to barely achieving 60, just with the hull state.
But other than that…there are so many things that can scrub off speed on a boat. Also depends on variance shown by gauges too.
Ok so…just looking at that picture there. Hard to tell. Engine bracket doesn’t look high mounted, but lower unit looks like it might be high when down. Unless that hull has a slight tunnel or a hull that suits the set up. Can’t tell from that picture really.
Hi. She’s unlikely to be a Shakespeare clubman. They are the smallest in the range and only about 12/13ft. Have a look at what I suggested in previous comments. All the best.
Mmm. Likely not common for an engine like that to have or need a water pressure gauge on the dash. Usually only a thing on high performance set ups or when there is a risk of losing pick up, as a result of it’s set up on the transom. Any pics ?
