Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

If you really want extra strength, the only way is to increase the amount of plies. You can do this by using more ‘sheets’ of thinner plywood. That will get you more plies for your target thickness. Going to 1/2” plywood would be as thin as you would want to go, and you would want to target 2”...

1990 OMC 4.3l Cobra ASKING FOR ADVICE

Manifolds if they are good have some value to a penny pincher keeping a drive going. Same with the rest of the parts

Gimbal Housing Studs for a Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 1. Need the specific part # or size for these.

I'm probably going to be in the same boat so I looked it up. .437-20 is 7/16"-20 If your frugal enough, you could make them out of a bolt. Needs to be stainless is all

Swap drives from one boat to another. How many day project?

I knew about the seal but what are the isolation mounts? are they the 2 fiber washers on the rear motor mounts? I've watched like 4 youtube videos so I have an idea on what to do but every video was incomplete so it's only an idea

    3.0L cooling hose discontinued?

Was going to tow my parts boat the 60 miles to where I can work on it ( which is 10 mins from my house ), but it's pouring so replacing trailer bearings in the rain wasn't something I'd like to do.. So here I am, trying to buy some maintenance stuff I know I need for my '86 3.0L swap.. The...

    SeaNymph parts? Need Bow “nosepiece”

I don’t think that can be welded. I would use an aluminum powdered epoxy like a quick steel for aluminum. Sand it down. And paint it with a cast type paint

I cant find the information to register my boat

Check with your state on what to do... Here in NY it's fairly easy for boats made before 1986. But every state is different... If you live in VT it's extremely easy and you could probably register a napkin holder if you wanted

    I'm stuck

Some kind of a surge brake I think. 19’ StarCraft tin boat will weigh 1,600 lbs or so fully loaded. Up to 2000 lbs depending on how much gear and fuel you have but the cutoff is 3,500 lbs gross combined so it should fall under that. Trailers are pretty cheap. I wouldn’t mess with that rust pile

Restoring a trailer vs replacing a trailer

I know. Caveat is the boat is now 60 miles from my house. I was hoping to have everything to do it when I went back down. I ran out of time when I was there.. I’ll probably have to buy all possibilities and return what I don’t need

Restoring a trailer vs replacing a trailer

When I put the tires on I spun both to listen to them. One sounds fine, the other is ugly sounding. I probably will replace both. I think the boat will fit with a longer tongue only there is a 96” tongue available which will give me enough tongue for my liking and it costs $300. I can probably...
