    Forums are very slow…

We're not really sure what is going on with the store. And to the best of the MODs knowledge, the site isn't being too actively maintained at the moment. The forums are hanging in there, and we're proceeding like business as usual. But, outside of that we're all kind of in the dark.

    Forums are very slow…

It's the site. Not sure what's happening, but it seems to be more in the latter portions of the week right now. But some days the site is super slow. When (if?) we find anything out, we'll let y'all know.

Oh drain plug ... for some reason I had spark plug in my head ... sorry.

    Stringer 400 oil plugs washers

I don't recall seeing nylon washers on any of my plugs. But, I don't know that you couldn't use a material like that. What kind of compression are you getting?

LOL ... please tell me you have friends in the CC Sheriff department who haven't seen that yet.

    Don't tape holes.

Have you tried an eraser wheel with the tape? I use them to remove decals quite a bit, and I'm impressed with how well they do - even with old baked on stuff.

Vinyl Plank Flooring Installation Decision ???

I like the cross grain look. In some of the older homes I've seen where there different generations of wood, they had a lot of cross patterns like that. I've heard - don't know how true it is - that a general rule of thumb is to run the grain along the same path as the greatest source of light...

    Boats from work.

I've never sailed a shoal keel (short and heavy) but I've heard that their kinda' sluggish. Bilge keel like that I would think would be kind of the same ... big and bulky, so it won't heel over and go.

1982 Seaswirl 120 OMC Stringer IO

Have you been greasing the swivel on the outdrive? Grease zerk is on the front of the intermediate housing behind the red plastic "bolt." If that's not greased, exhaust gas can get in there.

    Harbor freight jack.

I have half a dozen tools - jack and impact wrench - that I bought at HF. Bought 'em as disposable tools because I only needed them for a single project. Figured I go cheap and not worry about it. Haven't managed to kill one of 'em yet.

    Mueller boat hill repIr

They're out of business since the early 90s, I believe. That hull design is (again, I believe) called a snipe. Should be a sloop rig racer. I moved your topic to the restoration forum. Lots of help in here for hull repair / rebuild.

    Man overboard

Been on that lake. It's cold water this time of year. Without PFDs, hypothermia wouldn't be out of the question either.

Sad Day For the SS United States

Read the same thing ... and I'm one of those divers! I'm more of a tourist. ... thought the same thing after I read it. In 2006 they sunk the USS Oriskany in the Gulf near Pensacola. I've not done this one, but she's sitting upright on the bottom. The hull is resting at 212ft, flight deck at...

    Best shallow water river boat

I've done it quite a few times where I run a canoe or kayak down the river ... fish a little while I drift. Then, stop and wade a little. Eat a sandwich ... rinse and repeat ... makes for a nice lazy day on the river. A set of oars will be a great compliment to the outboard, and give you some...

Sad Day For the SS United States

Well, it's sad that she's outta' service. Cool old ship like that would be neat out at sea. But, I scuba dive some of the sunken ships off the Gulf Coast. They make really amazing environments to go enjoy the wildlife ... and honestly you get to really see a lot of the ship that way too. LOL...

    Best shallow water river boat

I normally wade the rivers, so I've never actually fished out of one. But from what I've seen looking at the boats themselves - they're setup really well and a great plaform.
