    If it hasn't been done it is a good time to go through the transom - all 3 bellows /shift cable/ trim switch and sender... use OEM merc parts and they will last just as long.

    I had a torn exhaust bellow for two seasons, but driveshaft bellow only had some light fraying on the OD of it where it rubs the gimbal ring/hinge pins... I think the bellow gets hard as time goes on and rubs vs flexes. Shift bellows was ok... says something about OEM bellows.

    typical v hull wander, biggest thing is to resist the urge to over correct. I'm sure other hulls may be different but if you put very small corrections in the steering wheel you can basically work around it. Of course it took me a couple seasons to figure that out...

    I have the same- 2004 boat , 370 hours on original gimbal, Ujoints, and shift cable. Did bellows last spring before they started leaking cable is smooth as silk..

    Yes absolutely grease it while idling In the old days you could just flip the bearing 90 degrees in the outer carrier to replace but merc started installing them the other way around to prevent this

    Take the fuel filter off and dump contents in a clear container. if there is junk in there you will need to clean whole fuel system. if ok put the filter back on.

    Usually if you have to use the trailer button to raise the drive the trim limit switch is bad. It is on the port side of gimbal ring and can be jumpered in engine compartment or at trim pump. Can't comment on transom switch but both throttle and transom switches will activate the same two...

    Yes on the AFR meter./O2 sensor stab in. I have moved the same meter between my 65 GTO and my boat. would not do this without it Will provide much better info than plug reading, especially in transition areas like rich/lean step up on rods, secondary kick in Etc

    Even if there is a preset map based on air pressure , any engine will still be down on power at altitude. its not AFR that causes the power loss , its the lower O2 content in air.     if you read up on sniper weather it is automotive or marine some folks have issues setting them up. Its not that the system doesn't work, seems more like Holley oversells the self tune feature. Seems like some folks have to go download different fuel mapping from holley to get them to work...

    Did you consider a 383 swap? would give about 340 hp if vortec headed several folks on here successfully running those in front of alphas especially in lighter boats, and would likely be an easier swap

    Of it doesn’t swivel sounds like you got a pos aftermarket bearing definitely needs to swivel send it back Looks like the grease hole in outer housing doesn’t line up with grease hole in race of bearing
