Folks a side track question.
Comment came into the Mods that this is a Force motor and not a Merc. It does look like a Force, and Force was made by US Marine for Bayliner until 1999.
What say you?
I don't know of a way that wouldn't cost a bunch or be noisy, both would use a 400 watt electric heater. Don't know how long power will be needed
Noisy - Get a 1000 watt gas Gen (under $200) and place it on the swim deck
Costly - Get a LiFePO4 Battery ($1000) to power the inverter, don't use...
Has spray in bed liner, hydraulic dump bed, heat, AC, and hydraulic rear connections to run other things like a post hole digger
Also use it to take me seadoo up and down a 1/4 mile stretch down to the lake, and road is steep
If motor is cracked, freeze plug is missing or Y pipe has a hole it will leak just sitting in the water.
Need to find where it's leaking.
Take it to a shop and let them find it for maybe $100 to $150
Pulling motor $500 to $1000, depends on where you are
Bought a Kubota RTV 1100 diesel in 2016 I think and never any problems, use it about every day for short trips. Still original battery, like dang that is unusual
Bummer
If I would have known you had not hauled it home yet that would be close to me first response. Folks just don't think about the bearings on a boat trailer until something happens. Car trailer would be good for thousands of miles, boat trailer might not be good for 100 if water got into...
The boats not going to just fall apart
Make sure the bilge pump is in good working order, and if it doesn't keep turning on every so often you can more then likely just keep going
