    Building a wake boat.

Weigh a v bow jon boat down to it's max capacity with you in it. Then before it goes on plane it will plant the stern and really make a wake.

    Bayliner 305/350 swap

'94 burb will have swirl port heads. Great for torque at low RPM. They are out of steam above 4,000 RPM. Also the burb will have a de tuned engine if it's a 3/4 or 1 ton.. I'd get all the power back with Vortec heads

Going from surge brakes to no brakes

Federal limit for trailers without brakes is 3,500 lbs. You will be right on that full of gas and equipment.. If you have a controller. go electric with 5 pin wiring

    Car Tires ok?

If you are taking it around the block it could be golf cart tires and it won't matter. But the next person who reads this may have something like a trailerable express cruiser and put on P rate passenger tires in the 205-75 R 15 that the trailer might have and try to make it 3 hours to the lake.

    Four Winns=four losses? 93 Ford 5.0 OMC?

That may be a Volvo based omc. So not as bad. But even a Ford engine can run good. Just parts are hard to find

    Car Tires ok?

I have said time and time again that the reason you can't use a trailer tire on a vehicle is the sidewall construction being designed different... As someone who has driven in a truck with trailer tires on the front I know why. It wanders because of the flex. Trailer tires are always more than...

    Car Tires ok?

If it's a van tire. That C rating is for cargo and not load rating. Those would actually be load range E and better than a trailer tire. However car tires are generally not acceptable and wouldn't be load range C

    Tube with 25hp on a 14' tinny

Indeed I live in a state where a spotter is required. As it should be. I've thought about putting the 30hp ecu and intake mesh in place but it voids warranty. I would have bought 30hp except Suzuki doesn't make the DF30A in short shaft. So I have to make it if I want it

    Tube with 25hp on a 14' tinny

I think I might just buy the cheap tube Walmart sells and see what it will do. I put the loosest pitch prop I could to get the RPM up on plane. We will have fun regardless

    Tube with 25hp on a 14' tinny

My girlfriend wants to get a tube behind my boat. I think it will work at a minimum but I'm not sure. It's a 14' StarCraft Holiday 14 with a Suzuki DF25A. Anyone?

    E85 in Chrysler outboard?

Plenty of 2 strokes run on alcohol mostly for racing or high performance. The carb and seals would need to be compliant. but the reason alcohol is used is it can run cooler at a higher compression. There are less btus in alcohol and on a stock engine is a large reduction in power

Trailer Plates and buying boat hours away?

As far as I'm aware in NY you are allowed to bring a trailer home with no plate. Just have sale information with you. I bought a boat trailer new from a dealer and a utility trailer from Home depot. Both times drug it home with no plate. I have drug home trailers with old plates too though...

Will dealers still deal on new boats?

My boat has a 6 gallon tank. Will cost under $40 and that will run me for a few outings.. I could have spent $8k on a bigger boat, but I don't regret restoring a tin 14'. Especially now

Converting Tohatsu 5hp to 6hp (4 Stroke) returns disappointing results.

If using an OEM carb the swap could possibly be worth it. But with an aftermarket. It's unknown if the carb would perform as well.. In the case of a lawnmower or something. It will make a non running engine run for cheap. But it may or may not be optimal. 1hp isn't a lot though

Converting Tohatsu 5hp to 6hp (4 Stroke) returns disappointing results.

Personally I don't trust aftermarket clone carburators to be exact. I buy them for mowers and stuff to get them running but I pay $50 or way less usually. If you look at the description it's jetted as a 6hp. So the venturi is the same or it's not actually what they say it is

Does EFI solve the hard start/cranking issue?

I can't hear my 25hp zuki at idle from the helm. The tach is the only way to know it's running aside from looking back at it

Does EFI solve the hard start/cranking issue?

I replaced a 1966 Johnson RD 28 which had a simple enough starting procedure. 1/4 throttle. Hit choke button and turn over for a couple rotations until it started. However I replaced it with a new 4 stroke 25hp Suzuki which is even easier. Turn key. Wait for beep to clear. Turn to start...

Has anyone seen or heard of a trailer tire doing this?

LT truck tires are acceptable. Michelin for instance actually rates their LT truck tires for trailer service and Airstream uses them as an upgrade option.
