    Ayuh,..... While the motor in the boat yer lookin' at is a Chevy 454, it's been marinized by OMC, so it's a package, 'n many of the accessory parts are NLA, 'cause OMC went outa business,..... Only the Long Block, is Chevy,.... Well,..... The other drive manufacturer's also do the same...

    Ayuh,.... The alpha, gen.IIs have plastic pads where the drive meets the gimbel ring,.... Donno if that'll cause a vibration, but I'd make sure they are replaced, Pronto,....

    Prop won't spin. Not a hub issue.

    Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... No cover over the driveshaft, but only maybe an inch is exposed,.... Trollin' is tough on couplers, especially if the splines aren't greased every year,.... At trollin' speeds, the splines are constantly loading, 'n unloading, which grinds 'em to nothing...

    Ayuh,.... Not all props use the same thrust hub, 'n hardware,.... Sounds like you need the proper hardware kit for the prop that rubs,....
