    Ayuh,..... You'll do better to remove the vent plug, fill til it runs out, put the plug back in,..... Then keep pumpin' til the bottle is at the full line,...... If ya don't, there's a Huge air pocket up 'round the top gear set,.....

    Ayuh,..... Did you thoroughly clean the entire fuel delivery system, Before you bolted on this new carb,..?? I ask, because it sounds like ya didn't, 'n just pumped more crap into the new carb,..... Yer initial bog situation sounds like it just needed a bigger shot from the accelerator pump,....

    Ayuh,..... Along with Lou's fear of internal cracks, another good reason not to run it is,..... The exhaust water will run outa the cracks, rather than mixin' with the exhaust to cool it, 'n not burn up all the rubber parts downstream in the exhaust system,.....

    Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... Does the "New" bellhousing have the oil port in it,..?? I'm guessin' the ring goes with the '89 drive, which is an Alpha 1, 'n Not a Gen.II, which came out in '91,..... If the bellhousing don't have the oil port, it's also an Alpha 1,.....

    Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Both block drains, each exhaust manifold, pull the big hose off the circulating water pump, 'n the P/S cooler in the in-coming water line from the drive,..... Removin' the single point drain system is a very smart move,.....
