    It's bolted and caulked down. Reach under the gunwale, unplug the tower, unbolt the tower. Or because the tower is designed to be below DOT limit and the gunwale is beafed up with al aluminum plate in the cap. The boat and tower are structurally secure (as it's a tow tower). Just leave it up
