plywood is not original to the boat, the backrests in a similar form were. however looks similar to a bud's old alumacraft

outboards are nearly the same from one HP to the other within a given displacement.
the I/O folks have a block manual, an EFI manual, a drive manual, and a controls manual. all about 400 pages thick
I say try it during low traffic hours. the only issue I see is trailer sway is magnified by short wheel base tow vehicle and the soft tires.
Brakes and pulling torque wont be the problem
