Manifold & Risers no longer available

The Ford EFI risers are different to make room for the larger intake manifold system. The riser/elbows are canted outboard on each side.

Manifold & Risers no longer available

The challenge is finding the Ford risers, which are different part numbers port and starboard...

    Boat trailer bunk bracket question

A metal fabrication place could easily make them for you if you had the dimensions.

Crank no fuel - oil pressure safety switch ?

Your connections don't look too bad, but I ran into a similar limp mode issue due to corrosion at the connection to the oil pressure switch. Maybe just remove and clean the connections as a first attempt.

    Trailer Bunk Bracket Mounting Questions

I would mount them so they are perpendicular to the bunks, but at 10 degrees, it really doesn't matter. Relatively low side loads at those small angles.

1999 Volvo Penta 4.3 - no reading on temperature gauge

I would find a wiring diagram for your engine to confirm the configuration. If you don't have access to one, post your engine model and maybe someone can share it, assuming they can get over the server photo linking issue.

1999 Volvo Penta 4.3 - no reading on temperature gauge

Realize there are two temp "senders". One is an alarm temp switch that completes a ground and triggers the high temp alarm, the other is a sensor that has variable resistance that is read by the gauge.

    Trim pump or rams issue?

Good point. The SX-M manual says the opposite, and I assumed it was the same on later drives/trim pumps. On the seal leakage, gravity puts a much lower load on the seals than drive thrust, so it still could be the seals.

    Trim pump or rams issue?

Even if the trim pump reservoir is full, you could still be leaking internally across the piston seals. Note that you need to trim the drive all the way up before you open the reservoir. At other positions the reservoir is pressurized.

2000 vp 5.0 - can i use the closed tstat housing for raw conversion?

On most heat exchangers you can remove the end caps and run an appropriately sized rod through the raw water tubes to clear them out. If you can do that, that should get it cooling enough.

    Warning buzzer

The hot side will connect to the purple ignition wire from the ignition switch that powers the ignition and gauges. The other side will be connected to the ground signal wire from the oil pressure alarm switch in parallel with the water temperature alarm switch (possibly tan wire with black...

    Help with layout

It would be helpful if you could post a picture of what you mean by "kick panels", but that's not currently possible on this site right now. If you're referring to the interior side panels, on my '95 Concept 21, they have threaded studs along the top that mount into holes along the upper...

    Spark plugs

Spark plug part numbers are listed on the starboard side of my engine. Have you looked there?

How much chain is too much?

One consideration is the load rating of the windlass. It should be rated three times the weight of the entire rode; line, chain, and anchor. I have 200' of chain in my 30'. At your depths you could use much less. Make sure to have at least some line so you can cut it off if needed. I...

Volvo Penta 305 - Squeak and Rattle

FYI. Belt dressing is intended for V-belts, plus it makes a mess when it flings the dressing off the belt.

    Troubleshooting Ignition Wiring Short

It turned out to be one of the purple ignition wires shorting to the block at the alternator. It's been rubbing for years, but I just tightened the belt and that added a bit more pressure to the chafed wire against the block. Luckily it was a hard short so that made it easier to chase down...

Right Hand Prop versus Left Hand Prop - OEM versus installed

I wouldn't worry about that design difference. Both ends are supported for axial loads, just in different manners. Twin engine installations run a drive in each direction with no issues.

    Troubleshooting Ignition Wiring Short

I have a short in my ignition circuit on my '95 joint venture (Volvo/OMC) Ford 5.0 EFI engine that I'm about to start troubleshooting. The 20A circuit breaker for the ignition system is blown. While cruising at 3000 rpm the motor just shut off, no sputter or any hesitation prior. Right at...
