    stop. get a dwell meter (borrow from your local auto parts store) set dwell to 30 degrees. if dwell doesnt read, you have a points or condenser issue.

    I learned to work on carbs almost 50 years ago. I suggest getting an OEM kit (has instructions) or get the factory service manual. Also check out mikes carb site

    If you make sure all passages are clean (pass fishing line thru them). And you set the car. Back up correctly, it should be night and day difference

    lots of oil on the plugs - that indicates blowby the one plug is missing its electrode indicting there are bits of aluminum on the electrodes indicating the timing is off being points, you have to set dwell before you set timing. so file the points, set dwell to about 30 degrees, then set timing.
