    Boats of that era had white oak inside the transom and marine grade plywood on the outside of the transom, it worked when the boat was new, it will work now don't overthink it.

    More than 1 way to pick the best prop for a set of conditions.

    I am amazed by the power and control I have with an inboard with a prop shaft and triple fins on the bottom of the boat, can turn on a dime at any speed.
